Its a bombshell development in a 45-year-old cold case mystery.
A commercial airplane hijacker escaped with a daring parachute jump in 1971 and was never seen again.
A team of private investigators says it has cracked a code that it says shows the infamous hijacker who went by the name D.B. Cooper is, in fact, a man who lives in San Diego named Robert Rackstraw.
Rackstraw is a former Stockton resident, whose family also lived in Calaveras County.

With an FBI packed parachute?
Yup, the universal adult white guy description.
Listening to Coast to Coast on way to work - was a guy talking about his documentation of the real Cooper, who had extensive “military training” which would have permitted him to jump unscathed. Claims DBC is living with third divorced wife in SoCal,
Some guy calls in saying while walking in the evening near where DBC could have landed, he saw a guy in a creek with two bags - guy asks him to help gather the cash from the broken bag.
More CtoC entertainment or something else?
As I said on previous thread, the Cooper depicted in the sketches appeared 35-40 years old. Rackshaw would been about 25 if it had been him and the photos of him then do not show a receding hairline like Cooper obviously had.
Plus, many believe the fall into a thick forest plus the discovery of old weathered bills that turn up periodically indicates he probably died on impact or soon after.
This report does not pass the smell test to me.

Hard to believe that a guy could act like that and not a single video released. Makes me wonder if the FBI is hiding something here.
Maybe he worked for the FBICIASWAMP, so they had to protect him.
The FBI gave him the parachutes to choose from. Whichever one he chose, didn't open.
I know a guy who met DB in a bar in Ypsilanti a couple years ago..........
Thats where the jumping frog came from.
I read the article. I still don’t see how they can pin it on this guy.
Did Cooper do or say anything to assure that the ‘chutes’ given him were actually going to function?
Did he state that one or more would be used by a crew member?
If not, easiest thing in the world to make a parachute inop.
D.B. Cooper exited the Boeing 727 into a 500+ mph windstream and was instantly sucked ass-over-teakettle into his parachute and fell thousands of feet to his death. Simple.
True statement. I was an active skydiver at the time (2k+ jumps) It was interesting to see all the new prospective jumpers with crewcuts hanging around drop zones trying to fit in. It was a small world back then. I wound up with a lot of attention because I (and many others) fit the loose description well enough for friends to joke about my involvement. I think there is about an 80% chance he did the jump and got away with it.
I think the statue of imatation has passed/S
Series-Hugh!!
So you’re saying there’s a chance?
Airstair door wouldn’t open at cruise speed. Cooper told the pilot to fly 200 mph at 10K Feet so he culd make it out.
The fact that he got the chutes from the FBI tells me why he didn’t survive.
My age, a young guy.
