The controversial sand vests, which weigh between 2.7 and 13lbs, are being used by 200 schools in the country despite some parents criticising them.
Schools say the vests, which cost between £124 and £150, are very effective at calming down hyper children and those with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
They also say its a better way at tackling the problem than using drugs such as Ritalin.

suicide belt training?
Not bad, and DEFINITELY better than drugs. But I still think that SPANKINGS work best. Make them fear pain if they act up.
As bad as Ritalin.
In first grade, Miss Cenci, used a jump rope.
Nobody messed w/ Miss Cenci.

If administrators had any backbone, they would call the parent out of work, and make the parent do the paddling.
Win, win & win.
This is not new, it’s bee around at least a century or more and has been shown to be very effective, especially in Waldorf School settings.
Kids often have trouble controlling their body movements. Wearing a weighted vest is a effective and humane treatment. The hyper kids feel more in control and more confident wearing these vests.
If offered to all kids to try and then let those who choose to wear them as short long as want, would not be coercive. Then what objection?
Too funny....hmm.
What to do with an overactive kid that won’t sit still. Build up their muscles so they are even harder to control.

In 5th grade Blaine public school in Chicago in the 1940s, Killer Lagrue (a female teacher) used a ruler across the hand or a book upside the head for talkative or fidgety students.
Maybe children shouldn’t be sitting in school for 8 hours...
This discipline brought to you by Diana Moon Glampers.
Most do not...closer to 5 hours. In any case, it’s the price of having to learn...at least if they’re actually taught anything.
Stop giving children SUGAR.
Or perhaps they’re just acting like kids and psychos out there are putting weighed down vests on them or wanting them to “fear pain” for no good reason.
Without sugar, how would I calm down???
“Stop giving children SUGAR.”
Won’t argue that! And smart phones. And Internet access.
Quick! Somebody cue the South Park clip!
