Verizon Pre-paid Samsung J7.
Best smart phone I’ve ever owned.
I own an Apple SE. It’s a smaller iphone which its well in my pocket. I like it a lot. Far more so than my old Android.
I also use a pretty rugged case to protect the phone.
I don’t own a cellphone and am happy about it...
Samsung Galaxy S7
Before that I had an 8 year old flip phone.
I have no basis to compare it to anything else, but like it.
Android user here. I have a Mac computer and an iPad, but prefer Android for my “phone”. Never owned an iPhone, but have considered it for the next one. I hate to be a total Apple fanboy. My Samsung Galaxy 7 has been fine, and Android is no more annoying and intrusive than anything else. They all have their bits that suck.
A Motorola Moto G gen 5. $200 thru Consumer Cellular. Like it a lot.
While I’m an Apple fan, less so of late, I can’t justify spending the many hundreds of dollars for a phone.
I don’t have my life on the cell phone, used primarily for calls and texts.
iPhone 6S. Very happy with it. Intend to get an iPhone X ASAP.
(Fair disclosure: I write apps for a living. That means iPhones (i.e.: the iOS ecosystem) are good enough that I stake my career on it.)
Samsung Galaxy S7
I used IPhone in the past, battery sucked.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and love it. I’ve never owned any Apple product. My phone is approaching 2 years old, I might check out all the newest phones next year.
LOL!
I have an LG something-or-other with a TracFone plan. Since I almost never make calls and only use it for listening to radio, I have zillions of minutes/data-whatever.
I have a Samsung 6 for personal use and an Iphone for business...
I hate my IPhone...
iPhone 7. I’m committed to Apple. Learned all its quirks, icons and functions, and it works. Easy to use. Great service at Apple Stores
I have done a couple of the entry level Samsung Galaxy (example: J3) phones on the Straight Talk network. They are solid Android phones and I was happy with them. ST is decent, especially when you’re on the Verizon network (they sell phones on most of the major cell carriers). I have mostly only positive things to say. You don’t have to renew your account monthly, but can set up an autopay mechanism and that makes it pretty simple.
The one con: their support, when you need it, is pretty bad. You can usually get a live person, but be prepared for long calls and lots of repetition. I got pretty frustrated a few times and had a couple of issues go unresolved. Other than that, I would say it’s a good combo.
Give it a try...there’s no contract, so you can walk away if you’re not fully pleased.
I’m off of Apple products for political and social reasons.
I’ve had good luck with LG products. I have the G4 phone now and am very happy with it.
Two things to consider.
The first is your service provider. Do you use your phone very little? Mostly calls, a few texts?
Then the WalMart plan may be good for you.
Next consider an Android vs. an IOS (Apple) phone. You currently use an iPhone? I’d stay with an iPhone. Get a 6s.
