This was a big issue awhile ago. The LDS promised to put a stop to it.

Baptism of the dead is NOT a practice sanctioned by the Bible.

Big batch of stories like this in 2012. Religious cultists lie. Hardly news.

Mormons are posthumously baptizing Holocaust victims as well as grandparents of public figures like Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton and Steven Spielberg, despite church rules intended to restrict the ceremonies to a member's ancestors [...]Well, I have no doubt that some Mormons are bonafide descendents of Holocaust victims, so what's the problem?
Likewise: Some Mormons are likely descended from ancestors they have in common with Trump, Spielberg, etc.
This is nothing new.

I have known and been friends with a lot of Mormons over the year. They are mostly good people. I wonder how many of them realize some of the weird practices going due to orders from headquarters in SLC.

I am sure that G-d is very angry about their attempt to force their religion on the dead, who cannot resist. Fortunately, they are working with empty shells, while the actual soul has gone on to its reward. So, they are merely necrophiliacs. Really really sick people.

I don’t care for this Mormon practice. Not at all.
That said it’s meaningless and the dead don’t care.

In Islam, everyone is born Muslim You dont convert; you revert.
The Mormons just do the reverse: die a gentile, join in death.

Baptizing is not magic. “baptizing” someone without their knowledge, or who is dead, is a ridiculous exercise in witchcraft. Says a lot about the crazy religion of Mittens Romney.

Somewhat loony a baptisms have to be received by living people either personally or when presented by a parent or guardian.

Will not read this article, but asking does the researcher have a name? And is the researcher anti-Mormon? I mean, is there any verification of these acts? It sounds ridiculous.

It appears that the Mormon practice of baptism for the dead contradicts the Book of Mormon!
In Alma 34.35-36 we read: For behold, if ye have procrastinated the day of your repentance even until death, behold ye have become subjected to the spirit of the devil, and he does seal you his. Therefore, the spirit of the Lord has withdrawn from you and hath no place in you; the power of the devil is over you, and this is the final state of the wicked.
