A real probable scenario is that all of the women who accused Moore of sexual misconduct will suddenly disappear from the scene. Mission accomplished. Mitch McConnell can't disappear, but he also bears a huge part of the responsibility for unjustly undermining Moore's campaign. Complete falsehoods were used to win politically. Look at which point in history we have arrived.
Moore must sue the yearbook queen to at least partly get his reputation back. By losing he certainly can claim damages.

I think the only way you nip this behavior (of false accusers) is to hit them where it hurts and make examples of them. I wonder whether this will actually happen.
And the law Moore broke. At that time fourteen year old were allowed to marry without parental consent IIRC.

This will not stem the tide of false accusations any more than the exposing of Cristal Magnum did. The practice will continue apace.

All of this is skillfully managed. Someone plans it all. From the release of the first accusation, to the release of the others. None of it is spontaneous.
Plus, the left searches for hysterics ready and willing to say whatever they want them to say for a nice tidy little sum. They will never be made to answer for their lies.

The politics of character assassination works, and has worked for decades. The Democrats are masters at this. If they can destroy someone’s reputation, they don’t actually have to be qualified for the job. When is the last time a Democrat actually presented their qualifications and campaigned on why they are the better candidate?
We need to come up with a strategy to make voters question the motives of the accusers. Many people already did that in this election, but not enough. Obviously, there is a significant number of voters who are willing to sit out an election and give it to the unqualified liberal on the basis of uncorroborated, unproven accusations—because the Democrats successfully made them doubt the conservative candidate. When voters turn on the Democrats for throwing up these accusations, and rightfully question their motives—e.g., we know that Democrats are against morality, so why are they making it an issue?—and instead challenge the Democrats to run on issues and qualifications, we’ll have made progress. Until then, we have a long ways to go.
