Scientists have captured a mysterious hum coming from deep inside the Earth, but they are still no closer to working out what it is.
It has long been known that the Earth constantly generates a low-frequency vibrational signal.
The first attempt to detect this hum was made in 1959, but it wasn't until 1998 that scientists finally proved its existence.
Since then, there have been hundreds of attempts to record the Earth's hum, but they have all been made using seismometers on land.

We can hear it about this time of year in middle-of-nowhere West Virginia.
Neighbors very far away. No traffic. Nothing running.
We hear it this time of year because there are no insects or animals making noise at night. Has to be very still, and we can only hear it inside.
The only possible explanation I can come up with is some pipelines several miles away. I’ve cut power and gas to eliminate anything in the house.
Luckily, it’s not loud enough to be disturbing. We really have to purposely listen for it to hear it, but my wife and I both do.
“Ive cut power and gas to eliminate anything in the house.”
Will you turn the utilities back on if the humm goes silent some day?
Showing compassion and caring for you are feminine? Seems like caring to me unless one is emotionally immature to believe men arent compassionate
Yep.
A Christian man who the Lord allowed to go to Hell for the briefest of periods so he could warn others wrote a book, “23 Minutes in Hell”, by Bill Wiese. NO ONE would be glad to be there.
Nothing illogical about the existence of Hell.
Check it out for yourself. Kick the tires - judge for yourself...

***That Superman episode , The Unknown People*** was actually the pilot for the original Superman series. That’s why it was movie length and they had a different actress for Lois Lane.
Morlochs?
It hums because it doesn’t know the words.
I couldn’t resist.
BTW There’s also the Taos, NM hum. I went there a couple of times but didn’t hear anything.

It’s Far Side guy who whistles and hums as he toils in Hell.
Morlock Air raid sirens being tested to lure in snowflakes. That’s what the hum is.

[I dont believe in hell; but if it existed, I dont think it would be a physical realm rooted in Earth, any more than Heaven is.]
Heaven is real. Hell is real. You’ll be in one place or the other soon...
Silly scientists. It’s simple, the earth doesn’t know the words.
Because the mantle doesn’t know the words?
