Full title........................Dogs really ARE smarter than cats: Canines have more than twice as many brain cells linked to intelligence............
The debate over whether dogs or cats are the smartest pet has raged for decades, if not centuries.
But in a twist that is sure to ruffle the fur of cat-lovers, new research shows that dogs are more intelligent than their feline foes after all.
Experts showed that dogs have more than twice as many brain cells in a region linked with thinking, planning and other complex behaviours.

Duh!
Of interest?
My observation is that dogs are as dumb as stumps and my cats always outwit them.
Not once have my cats eaten their poop, licked their privates, and then licked me on the face. Who is more intelligent?
Certainly not you if you let him lick your face after that.
LOL, the only problem is, all those brain cells of linked intelligence centers are centers that have to do with food acquisition and crotch licking!
(I love dogs, btw...they are so much like us men)
Ever seen a cat act perform? Tell me. Ever watch America's Got Talent?
The difference between cats and dogs is that cats aren’t afraid of losing their jobs.
Cats have turned humans into well-trained employees. (I have personal experience with this)
Dogs do anything and everything for what, a lousy cookie?
Cats are the smarter species.
One of the Wizard of Oz books features a cat with an apparently see-through skull, where you can see her brain. She is so proud, she goes around saying, “see my pretty pink brains!”
She is dumb as a rock, but very proud of her pretty brain.
I love cats, but they can be like that.
LOL. Good point.
Obviously I don’t let him lick me that after observing him doing those gross dog things. But, no matter when your dog licks you, you know he has engaged in those things sometime recently.
I caught my cat Donald O. Rumsfelt licking his butt for almost an hour. I kicked him to stop and he said he had bitten a Democrat and licked himself that long to get the taste out of his mouth. I said “ Carry on.”
No study in the world would convince most cat owners that their pet wasn’t smarter than a dog. A cat’s behavior is more often open to interpretation, and can appear ambiguous, neutral, even CATatonic.
Of course dogs are smarter than cats. With out question. But all dogs are not equal. There are some cats that are smarter than others. And there are dogs that are very smart and then there are beagles.
LOL..you are correct doggies are a lot like men.
LOL. Excellent short story.
