"Experts believe the site was identified around A.D. 325 A.D., when Roman emperor Constantine the Great came to the city with his team to locate places associated with the life of Jesus.

The Romans are said to have torn down a temple in Jerusalem where they found the cave that they believed to be his burial site. They then built a shrine and a church around that site."

With all due respect to Constantine, the first Christian Roman emperor, he along with his mother, Helen, started the false rumor that Mt Horeb is in the Sinai Peninsula of Egypt, and even may have given Mt Horeb the name “Mt. Sinai.” With that on his record, I’m skeptical that it is the tomb until I learn more.

The Bible clearly tells us Mt Horeb is in the land of Midian, which today is Midyan province in northwestern Saudi Arabia.

So, there’s no mention of glue or much of anything. What was the point of the article?

Since Jesus’ day, Jerusalem has undergone periodic urban renewal and redevelopment projects as well as population management programs undertaken by the Romans, the Persians, the Arabs, the Turks, the Crusaders and so on, so I’m skeptical of such reports.

I was at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre on Holy Saturday 2014. It was a very moving experience, but one thing struck me as funny. As the article States the church is governed by three different Christian sects. As a result of conflicts between the caretakers it is the only church that I’ve ever been in where there is no collection. No collection boxes nothing.

Jerusalem was wiped clean by the Romans. Nobody left. They completely rebuilt everything from the rubble. What every thinks is the Temple Mount and the Western wall are probably the remains of the Roman fortress.

Imagine Washington DC getting hit by several hydrogen bombs. Then, a hundred years later people come along and builds a city completely devoid of anything previous, using all the ruble. Then two hundred years later someone else comes along and says, “this is where the Whitehouse was”. Over there, that’s where the Smithsonian was. Sure. And yonder over in Bethlehem, that’s where Jesus was born.
