But it was unusually high-profile, the facts were not in dispute, the perpetrator had a lot of nominal feminist ideological commitments, and political leaders who shared those commitments had the power to force him from office. Had he resigned in shame, we all might have made a collective cultural and political decision that a person caught leveraging power over women in inappropriate ways ought to be fired. The more I see these stories, the more I believe a Trump story is coming.
They’ve decided Bill is past his expiration date and can be thrown in the trash. There are now political advantages from doing that. If Bill Clinton were still of use to the Left, they’d still be on their knees for him.

First off, it was indeed a most egregious case. I do not need to explain why to a reasoning adult.
Second, none of this "condemnation" is in the least bit sincere. The left has realized that it is now politically expedient to ditch the Clintons and at the same time publicly sound high and moral.
It is a false morality because it requires absolutely no sacrifice on their part. They don't lose a Democrat President by burying the Clintons now and they (hopefully) get rid of an embarrassing, bitter harpy who refuses to shut her pie hole. All while (they think) sounding moral & ethical.
While they still have the gall to preface the whole steaming pantload with "it really wasn't that bad".

The democrats/liberals/media know that they have no credibility when it comes to accusing others of sexual misbehavior. So they are trying hard to repair some of the problem.
It may just be damage control. Most of those busted were outspoken lefties, and two of the most outspoken women admitted they knew of the abuse but were quiet.
And let’s not forget how Bill Clinton not only had women coming in from is past, but he was doing Monica Lewinsky in the oval office, WHILE he was President.
I once had a friend, smart, bright. It was because of the Bill Clinton thing that I’ve stopped communicating with her. I now sometimes wonder how she’s doing.
Anyway, I was not of any particular idealogy, conservative, or liberal. I was not a political junkee in the Bill Clinton era but it was the beginning.
But I thought that thing with Bill Clinton and the intern to be just reprehensible. And I think I voted for Bill Clinton. I will never, then or now, understand those who pooh-poohed it as just sex.
He was the president of our country for God’s sakes. He had Monica servicing him while on the phone to world leaders.
My friend was one who said she was okay with it, that it was “just sex”.
Now they got their panties all in a wad over some politico who liked the young ladies when he was.....eh....young.
