Penguin Young Readers has announced plans to publish a companion book to activist and former First Daughter Chelsea Clintons bestselling nonfiction picture book, She Persisted: 13 American Women Who Changed the World. The collective biography, She Persisted Around the World: 13 Women Who Changed History, will be released on March 6, 2018. Alexandra Boiger, who illustrated She Persisted, will provide the artwork.
Both books take their titles from Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnells now-famous critique of Senator Elizabeth WarrenShe was warned. Nevertheless, she persistedwhen she tried to read Coretta Scott Kings words on the floor of the Senate. The incident took place during the confirmation hearings for Attorney General Jeff Sessions in February.
The new book will pay tribute to 13 women who have made a global impact, including Marie Curie, Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, Viola Desmond, Sissi do Amor Lima, Leymah Gbowee, Caroline Herschel, Wangari Maathai, Aisha Rateb, J.K. Rowling, Kate Sheppard, Yuan Yuan Tan, Mary Verghese, and Malala Yousafzai. Penguin has announced a first printing of 250,000 copies.
Clinton said in a statement, She Persisted Around the World celebrates 13 women who overcame adversity to change the course of history across the globe. Inspired by the overwhelming response from young readers to the stories of the 13 American women shared in She Persisted, I decided to write She Persisted Around the World and hope these incredible womens stories further empower kids to use their voices and dreams to positively shape the world around them and our shared future.
Chelsea Clinton should have been prevented with an enema....
“She was prosecuted’ winner winner chicken dinner!
It should be titled “She Insisted,” or “She Demanded.” She can make the book about her mother’s obsession with running for President.
That ugly thang isn’t smart enough to “write” a picture book.
‘she needs a job from liberal publishing houses to buy pricey new designer heels’
Changed the course of history, J.K. Rowling, really?
Don’t know of most of the others.
She got the others from wikipedia.
Penguin Young Readers Announces Sequel to Chelsea Clintons Book ‘She Persisted’
Sequal: “She Wont Go Away!”
‘she wont go away, until you give her a senate seat!’
LOL. Download a few paragraphs from Wikipedia, embellish the stories to stretch it out to write a book, get someone to polish it up, and then sell a book. Wow, what a concept.
Never heard of any of them.
I’ll bet the public schools buy them up post haste.
Marie Curie was the first name on the list. I've heard of her, although most people might think her first name is "Madam" and not "Marie".
Let anyone get a $3 Million cash wedding present of laundered money from my parents bogus foundation and i bet they’d persist too...
I imagine someone good at spinning words and making up lies did the book with the help of a few words from her.
Chelsea probably thinks her mother is the only one that should be called ‘Madam. yukkk
