Things are going from bad to worse regarding relations between NFL players, owners and fans.
On a day when the largest national anthem protest yet was staged, it now appears that players and owners will not be meeting as planned to discuss a solution to the ongoing social justice concerns that prompted the protests.
Philadelphia Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins, one of the key spokesmen for the players, says a meeting between the owners and players to discuss social justice initiatives has been canceled. Jenkins claimed the league did not accept an invitation for the meeting, which was to be held Monday in Philadelphia, saying scheduling issues would not permit them to attend.

Next year, when contracts come up and those troublemaking 3rd string tight ends, and 5th Defensive Backs get informed that they're not up for renewal .... will be when they realize they've made a big mistake.
But not until then. There's still a whole lot of posturing to be done between now and the SuperBowl.
They should all be fired. Hire players who appreciate it.
Oh boy. This could be the real end of the NFL.
It seems to happen quite often.
Guess they know better than a financial advisor...
I think they just ought to cancel the rest of the season.
Is the NFL ready for a stadium attack on a Las Vegas scale? (Excerpt)

This brings me to the NFL. In 2017, we are in a season of national discord, with American politics more radically polarized than since the 1960s, or perhaps even the years before the Civil War. The Las Vegas Massacre has shown us that billion-dollar corporations like MGM, as well as the Las Vegas police, were woefully unprepared to deal with a sniper standing in the window of a hotel overlooking an open-air concert.
Should we assume that the NFL is any better prepared to deal with a stadium sniper similar to the one described in the first chapter of my first novel?
Bear in mind that my fictional sniper was not perched high up in a stadium light tower, or hidden in the stands, but was located in a separate building three-quarters of a mile away. His rifle was aimed just over the near side of the stadium, dropping plunging fire into the opposite upper deck. Perimeter security measures taken to prevent firearms from being smuggled into a stadium will do nothing to hinder a distant sniper using this area-fire tactic. In my novel, a SWAT counter-sniper in a helicopter is able to kill the patsy left holding the rifle, but only after the shooting had ceased. But do NFL stadiums have police helicopters with counter-snipers standing by, ready to protect the fans who are packed in like sardines? And not only at the Super Bowl, but at each of the dozen or so weekly NFL games played in uncovered stadiums, or the hundreds of college games?
Greatly increasing the likelihood of a long-range sniper attack on a stadium is the fact that the distant sniper will have a good chance of getting clean away. In my first novel, three rifle magazines, ninety rounds, are enough to precipitate a panic stampede that kills over a thousand fans. If the distant shooter escapes, he can easily leave false clues at the scene, blaming his ideological enemies for the massacre. The Left can blame the Right, or black can blame white, or vice versa. Current events demonstrate that many, if not most, purported “hate crimes,” such as painted swastikas and nooses left at colleges, have been false-flag operations done to discredit the political enemies of the left-wing hoaxers.
Imagine the national outrage after a stadium massacre if overtly racist anti-black hate literature is found among the expended brass shells in the sniper’s lair, calling the mostly-white victims “race-traitors” for attending the NFL game in the wake of ongoing anthem-kneeling protests. The resulting social explosion would make the aftermath of the Las Vegas Massacre seem like a church picnic by comparison. This prospect must certainly be tempting to malefactors bent upon driving the United States toward civil war and anarchy. And, of course, an Islamic terrorist would need no reason beyond spreading terror among the infidels.
As soon as these horrible black thugs donate 90% of their bloated salaries to good charitable causes, I’ll give a damn.

Owners/NFL should have nipped this in the bud.
Now, it could be that a players’ strike might be in the foreseeable future, if the owners/NFL try to do something now. Their window of opportunity has about closed. They allowed the Kaepernick knee to permeate and they have lost control. The players now protest the President — who had nothing to do with the Kaepernick knee — because of his remark. Next, one team protests against their owner [talk about biting the hand that feeds you] — because of his remark.
A few bad apples are destroying the NFL, one gameday at a time.

The major question now is: how many more viewers did the NFL lose yesterday?
I don't think they are stupid. No one ever told them the Ego is not your friend.
NO. No more using Veterans and the military. NO more flyby’s, flag displays by military. Screw them.

They relied on the NFL to behave responsibly in order to preserve the value of their contracts, and the league has not done so. They have squandered the goodwill of the fan base, and have thus reduced the value of the games to the broadcasters.
Frankly, I think the networks could prevail in court. They have the rule book, which the the NFL refuses to enforce. Given this rule book existed before the TV contracts were negotiated, it is reasonable to assume that the TV networks could rely on the NFL to enforce the rules and preserve the value of the games.
The networks should go to the NFL, offer a fair price given the reduced viewership, and threaten legal action if a negotiated settlement can not be reached. If the cost to the networks is reduced, they can pass the savings on to their beleaguered advertisers, and maybe eliminate some ads, helping make the games more appealing.
...stop shooting and killing, stop beating women, get married and stay with one woman, no children out of wedlock, obey the law, get the chip off your shoulder, be polite and respectful to cops. There is no secret to a successful life.
Why the HELL should we care one iota about their self-inflicted pathologies, epecially after paying them $10 trillion which only made everything 1,000 times worse.

I turned the Dallas/DC game on yesterday afternoon, but left the volume off. Within minutes, it was the same old, same old: boring play, ghetto hijinks, penalty, review, cut to commercial.
With the sound still off, I got up and started doing a few household things. I caught a glimpse of some commercials, and they too are still doing the same old, same old: dufus white guy, hip, urban, good looking party eating junk food, etc.
The whole exercise is the epitome of ridiculous. It took some mighty powerful brainwashing to induce an entire nation to view NFL football as entertaining. Then, to highlight the contrasts, the WS game was the way sports are supposed to be played (and entertain). Wow
So, now that the magic spell has been broken (for many), how does the farmer return after seeing the big city lights?
They do not donate their money nor their time. They have more free time than most, so why aren’t they in the inner cities advocating an end to the blacks killing blacks?
That too.
