The Southeast is dominated by college football. It doesn’t surprise me that the NFL isn’t as popular there as it is in other parts of the U.S.
Last night I ate at a restaurant that used to have NFL or college football on whenever a game was on. But instead they had the European version of football - soccer. Five screens I could see and not one was NFL.
Awesome! There is hope yet! I go into a cigar place quite frequently and sit down and visit. They have 4 TV’s. Two were set to NFL football yesterday. I told the owner I wouldn’t be buying there when televising the NFL. He just shrugged his shoulders. Makes me wonder if anyone else has said the same to him but his reaction was less than I expected. I suppose more want it on than don’t so...
Went to a local restaurant/bar yesterday for lunch with wife.
Asked the propieter to change channel on tv that had on the National Felon’s League.
He actually complied, most probably because no one was watching.

Weekly TV viewership has been dropping 8-10% per week. It will be interesting to see this past weekend’s numbers.

To be fair, there’s other things affecting football beyond the NFL controversy. NCAA college football attendance has been dropping six years in a row. Empty seats are becoming a feature at all levels of the game.
