The NFL likely hoped for a return to normalcy for Week 6, especially after Commissioner Goodells call to move past the anthem controversy, and address the issue in detail at league meetings on Tuesday. Instead, what the NFL got was a return to what has become the new normal in the age of anthem protests: empty seats.

I was thinking the same thing. I wonder if they will offer half price deals.
I’m wondering if Super Bowl advertisers have started trying to re-negotiate advertisement rates.
And, to piss even more people off, the lack of a sellout means no local TV coverage.
Atlanta United, their MLS franchise is outdrawing the Falcons.
i’m retired now. However, I used to be responsible for purchasing decisions that accounted for 8k to 15k a year to an NFL team. I felt the same way as a younger executive as I do now and would not be spending my marketing dollars on the NFL.
I would be telling the team, I bought these Club level seats and passes and I can’t get a refund, but I am not spending money in the club and next year there is a big check you aren’t getting because I will not renew them.
It has already dribbled down to high school football. Homoerotic hero worship type stuff.
BINGO! Right now, a lot of season ticket holders are selling their seats online at a huge loss and the people that buy them are obviously going.
Next year, the season tickets won't be bought, and the people that are buying the heavily discounted tickets this year aren't going to pay full price next year. Ticket prices will plunge, remaining season ticket holders will be pissed they paid so much for what is now selling for dirt, and the whole cycle will repeat itself the following year.
Owners whose only "assets" are a TV contract, season ticket holders, and some ad revenue, will see the value of all three drop substantially, while their liabilities (prima-donna contracts) remain constant. NFL team value plunges.
Too bad season ticket holders can’t get their money back. The NFL doesn’t care. They’ve already pocketed the $$$$$$.
Like most here. I can live without the NFL.
No longer interested. Let the thugs enjoy it.
Weekly TV viewership has been dropping 8-10% per week. It will be interesting to see this past weekend’s numbers.
Based on those pix, ticket sales are likely down significantly, too.
That ‘weak-kneed’ apology from the NFL commish and owners apparently wasn’t too appeasing.
Owners starting to panic. Moving past, is telling... Popcorn time.
They will. I used to have baseball season tickets. Then came the 1994-95 baseball strike. Maybe the players had some valid grievances, but I was ticked at the highly paid players walking out on their fans. I didn't renew my tickets. I was called for about 3 years and offered all sorts of deals but never re-upped. I just stopped caring about baseball. Every once in a while I'll watch a couple of games of the world series but that's about it.
Not to worry NFL, the ACLU-type libs will pick up the slack. Right?
I can understand that. Big University football Saturday is a school spirit kind of thing for young twentysomethings. They're not old enough yet to think about bigger pictures. That's why even the college protests are just mimicry rather than deeply held beliefs (not that the NFL protests are deeply held, either, but more likely virtue signaling).
They'll get their dose of reality later, when their degrees are worthless and they can't even get a job parking cars at the local NFL stadium on Sundays.

They aren't your thousands or maybe the people using up their tickets don't know any vets. Those who served and died didn't do it for the NFL, the FFL just benefits from their sacrifice.
I’ll comment whenever I damn well please.
