This is 100 percent pure speculation, but if I were a betting man, I'd say The Six, hosted by Jemele Hill and Michael Smith, will be gone from ESPN before the end of the year.
-snip-
First things first, despite what the lunatic in charge of our country tweets, one host who appears for an hour a day is not responsible for an entire network's ratings tanking. Yes, the ratings for The Six are down from that time slot last year when ESPN aired SportsCenter featuring Lindsay Czarniak. But let's put things in perspective and offer some context. Via Awful Announcing, in September, The Six was down 20 percent compared to the same week one year ago. Pardon The Interruption, which airs right before The Six, was down 17 percent. So ESPN's ratings slump is not all because of one show or one host. This holds true for any network. It's basic common sense, which I know is shunned in the Trump Era.
But at this point, is there really anything for ESPN or Hill and Smith to gain by continuing on with the show? It's clear Hill has no interest in "sticking to sports" and doesn't want to be muzzled when it comes to speaking out about what's going on in the country. ESPN obviously doesn't want the repeated headache of having to deal with the fallout from Hill's political opinions. It's clear many people -- fans, media members, elected officials -- have made Hill a target.
-snip-
The ironic thing is that Trump's attacks on Hill have made her a bigger hero to those who supported her from the first "white supremacist" dust up. If the end of The Six is indeed sooner than later, Hill will come out of it with many offers.

Hopefully the end is near for ESPN.
The entire network of ESPN down in large part because they put way too much politics in general on it. The worst offenders are going to be down even lower. ESPN’s audience is dropping much faster than the cord cutter #s (which I think half of which are related).
I cut my cable over a year ago because of all the channels that I dont watch like CNN and MSNBC. Never likedESPN. I was never a sports fan anyway. I havent watched a pro sports event in years and I already dont subscribe to any newspaper. Also the old networks ABCBSNBC and even PBS. They love Clinton and Obama and McCain but hate Rush Limbaugh and Palin. Now they are all working overtime trying to overthrow our President.
It wasn’t so long ago that Chris Rock played ‘Nat X’ on SNL. Nat X was a stereotypical black power type complete with raised fists and loud voice who saw racism in everyone and everything, even if the sun went behind a cloud.
Nat X was a joke, an exaggeration, a character. But you would be hard pressed to tell the difference between Nat and the angry militants posing as anchors presenting sports news. But the joke is on them now.
She will end up some rappers girlfriend.
SI...really? A dollar for their entire company would be an irresponsible investment.
Jamele Hill better start learning how to clean rooms and make beds or ask, "Would you like an apple pie with that?"
Evidently Sports Illustrated wants a piece of "going out of business" too.
Insulting the President guarantees that half the nation just stoped buying your product and supporting your advertisers.
Marketing 101.
Shouldn’t Jemele Hill be out looting or something?
Kathy Ireland was my all-time favorite swimsuit model.
what Jemele Hill and ESPN fail to understand is that most people have no interest in racist a-holes like her when they want to watch or hear about sports. She is not smart enough to be interesting, and anyway when people feel like enjoying some sports viewing they are not looking for “social commentary” or Leftard b.s. opinions.

after that weird “white lash” conniption fit election night, ever since, hes cooled it and he on way less than before.
Similar to Colin's offers, eh?
I haven’t looked at Sports Illustrated in years so I didn’t know they had gone full leftist retard.
Now I know.
Another FReeper described how after the election he went out to talk to Trump voters, and found them very different than they had been portrayed. He understood that many voted out of very real economic concerns, and he admitted as much.
For some of us, they were not relevant for a long time - I didn’t know they had something called “The 6” because ESPN disgusted me way before the NFL did.
I watched these low rent negros for all of three minutes.
Horrible,
Reruns of Tom & Jerry was more informative and edumacational.
Okay, I'll play along... Jemelle Hill is 'hero' and presumably no longer needs her high-profile, well-paying job with ESPN. So how much do unemployed 'Heroes' make? What other skills does she have? And who will even care about her political opinions once she no longer has a Media platform to abuse?
Dropped Comcast last week. I already hadn't been watching the NFL for quite a long time, so that wasn't the reason. But having a portion of my bill labeled "Sports Programming Fee" aka the ESPN subsidy, was a major part of that decision.
