1940 Ford pickup. Flathead V8 and 3 sp with Gorgeous lines.
A complete one stares at me every time I go out side. I hope I can get it going again.
I have many, but here lately I’ve been daydreaming back to my youth: an early ‘66 Plymouth Belvedere HP2 with that big ole 426 Hemi, 4 speed transmission, black paint, no stripes, dog-dish styled hub caps on black steel wheels, sewer-sized exhaust....yep, a real sleeper deluxe in its day. Oh, did I mention that rumble from the exhaust? Yeah, it’s something else...ain’t nothin’ like it anywhere.
Then, I jump to the present and sure wouldn’t mind having one of those new Dodge Demons in B5 blue....you know, just something to tool around in and maybe take to church on Sundays.... :)
Then economic reality sets in....I’m just gonna have to stick with my 392 SRT8 Challenger...at least for now.

Actually I do have a “dream” vehicle now...Zetros.
That is rather badass sled.
You need to do that if you have one. If I was going to build a hot rod, I’d start with a ‘40 Ford coupe.

Not much of car person, but my first vehicle was a DKW 3=6. Had an acquaintance who was a graduate AG Engineering student at the University of Nebraska. Said his dad owned a DKW and ran it for a quarter of a million miles with no problems. That was the car for me. Found one on a used car lot in Lincoln and bought it for $400. It was slightly larger than a VW. Drove it around a bunch, but didn’t get my quarter M out of it. Lost first gear during a trip to the Colorado Mountains. Finished the trip by skipping first and ordered a transmission out of Chicago. It had a 3 cylinder, 2 cycle engine, weighing about 90 lbs. I lifted it out by myself and replaced the transmission with no help.
It was not service free, and I had the service manual. It had a picture of a DKW 1000SP Coupe. I was never a car luster, but such a machine would find would readily find a place in my collection of vehicles. My 3=6 was no match for the winter salt termites in the DC area where my first job took me. In addition, a weakness of the two cycle engine was, although it had only 7 moving parts, the bearings would eventually wear and one of the moving parts would knock a hole in the crank case, marking the end of that engine.
