I am going to a local sports bar with my 82nd Airborne Division vet hat, and a tshirt that says "Stand and Deliver" with a picture of Dallas Cowboys standing in front of a background of the flag.
At this time I'm not watching any other NFL game.
HERE IS MY DECREE:
If all the Cowboys remain standing, I will remain a fan and watch their games.
If any Cowboy refuses to honor the flag, I will forever stay away from the Dallas Cowboys, and hence the rest of the NFL, UNLESS Jerry Jones fires him on the spot. But I will leave the bar with drink left on table. The game is not important at this point.
This is NOT about "the right to protest," at least to me. If you wish to protest, then I have the right to ignore you...and the rest of the league... forever.
If you want to use your platform to solve problems, don't piss off the very people you need to help solve such problems. Yes, racism is a problem, though it is more pronounced through socialist anti-family agendas, but I digress. This is not the point of this proclamation.
I speak for virtually every long-term Cowboy fan. I have never called it "America's Team," as that was a euphemism that was overly used; everybody has their own team that doesn't need the imprimatur of the entire country.
However, I now say it with sad irony, that Dallas will, indeed, be "America's Team" FOR REAL, if they are the only team left standing for the flag.
I am no big overall Trump fan (not enough conservative statesmanship that fail to deliver), but in this regard it is not about Trump. It is about our very soul of the country, for which it stands.
I repeat: Any Cowboy kneels, it is the death of my participation with the NFL, UNLESS Jerry Jones fires the malcontent. This is MY bar. This is MY "protest." This is MY "Conscious-raising moment."
God Bless America, and hopefully, Go 'Boys!
The NAACP???
Why?
Yeah right. It’s Jerry Jones but he is genuinely pro-American. Let’s see.
You mean “drop the soap”?
Yep.
LOL!.....yeah................
There is no downside for Jerry Jones in telling players they must stand for the anthem. IF a player or players DO kneel then he needs to say in no uncertain terms that players can protest all they want on their time, but not on the Cowboys time. It’s a distraction and bad publicity. Any team player would KNOW that it’s a distraction.
To show some real solidarity.
If they are that worried about Americans of African Descent, then let’s see them put their money where their mouth is.
One year of every players salary and one year of tv revenues.
LOL
Let me point out that this “taking a knee” is not an isolated phenomena. It is all part and parcel of the hate-America-and-everything-it-stands-for mentality of the left and racist thugs, no different that the acrid hatred for Confederate monuments, the U.S. Flag, American history, Christianity or white males.
I’m wearing a shirt right now that says, “Stand for the flag, kneel for the cross.” It is more appropriate today than when I bought it months ago.
Might as well toss that money into a dumpster, then. NAACP is in existence to serve themselves.
In a city where the police were just picked off while doing their job, I would hope that the cowboys understand that taking a knee against police and soldiers may not be a good idea. But of course I am not sure why its a good idea anywhere.
Jerry Jones is one of the reasons this D/FW boy isn’t a Cowboys fan, besides the thuggish culture that is coddled and enabled in that organization.
Remember when children and their parents could reliably point to professional athletes as superior role models? Now, the converse is true.
On record? Where?
Say what? Why donate to a racist organization? Isn’t that what they are protesting? Oh, wait, only whites and cops are racists. Got it.
I guarantee you there isn’t a Dallas area resident that would put up a dime betting he will... it was always bull crap.
When it hits them in their pocketbooks or their pride, they’ll stop this nonsense.
GUNG HO! GUNG HO! GUNG HO!
