The NFL Is Seriously Concerned With Empty Stadiums
MSN ^ | September 13, 2017 | Ryan Phillips

Week 1 of the NFL season had plenty of important stories worth following, but maybe the most entertaining was the mostly empty stadiums in Los Angeles and Santa Clara. Both the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers had sparse crowds for their home openers, and that has not gone unnoticed by the NFL.

Empty seats = greedy owners overcharging for seats. From what I heard, SDLA Chargers thought since the soccer stadium that is their home seats only 30,000 they can charge double the price at Qualcomm.

Good. Hope it’s just the beginning of a downward spiral down the toilet for the increasingly politicized NFL.

Ditch ESPN and every vestige of political correctness from football, and after a two year probationary period, I may end my boycott.

Oh, I don’t know. Maybe the average American is offended by watching a bunch of overpaid thugs run around with a ball while lamenting the racism of America???

I hope the stadiums stay empty. Let’s see if Antifa shows up
& pays to watch NFL games. Along with the Hollywood crowd...

I’ve seen football games on big 4k TV’s. I honestly don’t know why anyone would go to a stadium to watch a game now. Seriously.

I can't understand this. What about NFL Pride?

Now that there is a formal group to "steer the NFL on LGBT issues", how can there be even one empty seat?

Surely Roger Goodell and the owners know their audience?

I used to watch football. Now, it’s not just the “protest” thing it’s a lot of other things as well:

Celebrating - it’s out of control. A guy tackles the RB in the backfield and he acts like they just won the game.

Hitting instead of tackling - these guys hit trying to hurt the other guy and a lot times just bounce off not stopping the play.

Reviews - endless reviews. It slows the game down and it loses any momentum.

Announcers - Some analyzing is good but that’s out of control too.

Penalties - players looking for a penalty every time they get touched. Especially the QB’s.

There’s more but the game has become a three hour borefest.

The article mentions not a word about the REAL problem:

Kaepernick and his knee-taking during the National Anthem, and how it’s been allowed to spread to other franchises.

Rein it in, NFL. This is NOT what your core fan base wants, believes in nor sympathizes with.

Good. I hope the anti-American NFL goes out of business.

Not just seats, we called sponsors, we called our cable providers and canceled the nfl package too. Many have moved just to college for their football 'fix'. Or discovered other sports to watch. Hubby is a Ret. SCPO, a car guy, so Velocity is a must channel.

And one of them offered a solution he said was bound to solve the problem and fill the stadium seats everywhere. “Let’s give Goodell a big raise and renew his contract! That will bring ‘em in!”/Sarc.

I think the only way for this issue to be solved is for the NFL to force the New England Patriots to sign Kapernick as their starter and trade Brady to the Vikings. Otherwise, I’ll never watch another game...

Ticket prices are just too high! Combine that with a health insurance premium that is more like another mortgage payment and who has the disposable income to go to a game anymore. Throw in the politics lately and you’ve got a recipe for disaster.

We have friends coming to town and they want to see the Buc’s game, I was able to buy tickets on Craigslist for half the price of the Buc’s website. They currently have a TON of unsold seats.

Well, let’s see here, last year it was blamed on fans being distracted by the election. Now, what is there to blame in order to sidestep the obvious? People were distracted by the hurricanes in Texas and Florida? Can’t admit that they’ve thoroughly annoyed their fans with all the stupid PC moralizing being shoved down their throats.

Shut up, pay the proper respects to your country even if you don’t agree for your fans’ sakes, or for the sake of your floozie paycheck if you don’t even care about the fans, and play ball.
