CLEVELAND -- Eleven Cleveland Browns players knelt in a circle during the national anthem prior to Monday's preseason game against the New York Giants.
While the group knelt behind the Cleveland bench in front of the Gatorade buckets, several other players stood nearby and put their hands on a kneeling teammate's shoulder in support.
Those who took a knee were tight end Seth DeValve, running backs Duke Johnson Jr. and Terrence Magee, safeties Jabrill Peppers and Calvin Pryor, cornerback Jamar Taylor, receivers Kenny Britt and Ricardo Louis, linebackers Chris Kirksey and Jamie Collins, and running back Isaiah Crowell (who was not in uniform).

Everyone should read your post up-thread to learn something they never thought about (me included)...i.e....the monopolistic nature of major sports leagues. You're correct, the general public is always on the short end...although they don't know it. It's coming out now, that's for sure.
The commissioners, the team owners are as complicit in greed as the players are in arrogance.
This whole "kneeling" thing is one big slap in the face to the general public. We'll see if anyone cares.

I wonder what kind of payroll is represented by this group of clowns? I am guessing that football —and America — been bery, bery good to them.
Keep paying for cable, going to the games and buying the products that keep this shell game going, saps.
The Commissar “commissioner” is getting extended another 5 years. Everything’s cool as ice in the NFL.
The owners aren’t in on this “demonstration” crap? Right... They couldn’t give a s**t. And why should they? The saps will continue throwing their money at them at every turn.
And hating the Country for that matter.
The NFL can go FOAD.
I am done too with the NFL. I dropped cable but I will use Sling TV during the fall to watch college football. I have no desire to watch the NFL any longer.
They see Kaeperdick getting honored constantly. He’s even getting museum exhibits for his stupidity.
So now here comes more of it.
FR should consider banning NFL threads this season.
They just did
i’m glad this thread was posted
i LOVE football
they can all go #### their mothers. Probably costs 20 buck on a crack infested corner
NONE of them, i’m SURE, knows what battle the song is about.
And I have to stop three are I will be removed from the board
What a bunch of mentally and emotionally stunted people.
People are not going to stop watching the NFL no matter what they do. They can wave the hammer and sickle flag and the fans will still watch and cheer them on.
Plus, they’re big recipients of WELFARE.
Tax dollars (7 billion and counting) are used to build these new stadiums to house these teams. We’re all paying for these clowns to insult our country.
Pathetic. Need to close up shop and find some athletic competition where the participants don’t ridicule their fans and their country.
What a bunch of intellectually and emotionally stunted people.
Loved your “Not for long” point and made the point directly to the NFL tonite. Will they listen? Who knows?
I suggested NFL owners should tell NFL players to keep their private political opinions private. If the want to make them public take out a political ad. If they want to make them public on the team’s commercial time, quit the team and go into politics.
Seems the only team who figured out that white guys can play football every bit as good or better than blacks are the Patriots. And they just win super bowls. Bellicheck has found a market of great players who are undervalued. They don’t put up with this thug culture nonsense.
Thank you. I’ve thought about it for some time. Feel free to share.
The Brownies know they are never gonna win so they decided to destroy the NFL right now.

Yeah, I didn’t really care much before. Now they make me want to care even less.
Frankly, it’s just not worth it.
I love it when a time wasting bad habit makes itself enjoyable to quit!.
May I suggest banning all NFL fan discussion or any other pro-NFL threads on FR? Last thing FR needs is anti-American NFL fan threads taking up space on your servers! Those that want to talk up anti-American NFL should be encouraged to take it up elsewhere by FR management!
