Unless there's something in the contract at his work I'd be contacting an attorney.

If we're going to start firing people for what they do after work then we've gone down a whole new dangerous road.

If they want to go down that road, businesses on our side should start firing leftists because we don’t approve of THEIR views.

The problem with this, of course, is that few leftists actually work.

“Unless there’s something in the contract at his work I’d be contacting an attorney.”....

Most people DO NOT have written contracts with the employers, certainly there are exceptions but rare.

There are nut cases working all over this country and the world, the majority of those in the US vote DEMODUMMIE.

The new meme is that there is "no place in America for..."

Even voices on the right are using this expression.

I guess this is how it works out in practice. At least this is how it begins working. It wouldn't surprise me if it ends in exile or loss of citizenship. We're in uncharted waters.

California is an "At Will" state and his employer has every right to fire him, even for no reason at all........

California is a work at will state. Your employer can fire you for any reason that doesn't violate the anti-discrimination laws.

Lots of states allow a person to be fired by employer whim. I support those laws. I think employment AND purchases should be done by free will - that you should be able to deny service or employment to anyone for any reason.

In this modern world when anybody can be publicly associated with a company you work for you’re never truly off the clock. If you become embroiled in a kerfuffle and the company’s names gets dragged in you’ll be out.
