Officials in Charlottesville in the US state of Virginia have declared a state of emergency ahead of a large march by white nationalists......
Violent clashes between far-right groups and counter-protestors have left at least two injured, police say.
President Donald Trump has condemned the violence.....
Earlier police fired tear gas against demonstrators and said that arrests had been made after a declaration of unlawful assembly....................

The “handling” of this situation by McAuliffe and the pols in Charlottesville is beyond pathetic, and they bear much of the responsibility for what unfolded today.
This situation has been building for months; law enforcement was justifiably concerned about the potential for escalation. Yet, security was ultimately assigned to a small, professional (but undermanned) college town police department, with limited support from the local sheriff’s office and state police. They were clearly unprepared for what unfolded and McAuliffe and his fellow Dims never offered any assistance; in fact, the governor didn’t get around to declaring a state of emergency until last night.
I was told there was a similar confrontation between the Ku Kluxers and the Antifa crowd in Pikeville, KY a few months ago. In that situation, state and local officials mobilized an overwhelming police presence and the two sides never came within striking distance of each other. At the end of the day, the hate mongers on both sides went home, and no one died.
McAuliffe can’t run for re-election. He knows the media will never blame him for what happened today, but they will try to pin responsibility on Donald Trump and (to a lesser extent), Ed Gillespie, the GOP-E nominee for governor. In the meantime, McAuliffe will be running for the Dim presidential in 2020, and his role in today’s debacle will be long-forgotten by then.

the Leftists came in and cause a riot like they ALWAYS do. Why’s this a big surprise that someone finally got hurt? Terry the Governor is to blame for this too. There’s no way that he was unaware that AntiFa was coming to town for this. He should have had the police there in force to keep these two groups apart. Instead he stood down until someone got hurt.

According to the guy holding the video camera in your linked video, the injured people were NOT the so-called "White-Supremist" marchers, but were instead the counter-protesters who were getting ready to march, but had not yet started moving. listen carefully to his panicked comments. I did not see any black-clad, masked, back-packed Antifa types there, mostly young, colorfully dressed idiots of whatever idealistic wing, although some were wearing backpacks.

I think that the group attacked was the counter-protesters, and we don't yet know who or what were the motives of the driver behind the wheel of the Assault Dodge. We may have it backwards. it may be a Neo-Nazi behind the wheel attacking what he thought were Antifa protestors. . . the video of the actual group hit seems to back the idea they were mostly young counter-protestors rather than older alt-right marchers.
Then there's always the possibility the guy behind the wheel was screaming "Allahu Akbar!" as he plowed into what he thought to be a random group of infidels.

Look at the video again. There's a person (woman I think) clearly hit and thrown OVER the white car and bouncing off its windshield and landing on the white car's hood after being hit by the Dodge Charger at high speed. I think she was unlikely to have survived that impact. She looked like a rag doll.
The white convertible moved only a few feet before rear-ending an SUV and may have pinned some people between them.
