I always remember the story Art Donovan told about Bobby Layne, when Donovan sacked Layne and could smell the alcohol on him, “Geez, Bobby, you must have had quite a night.’ He said, ‘Aw, I had a few at halftime.”
As long as the OL is healthy.
Mantle, Ford, and martin went out after a day game and got blind drunk. Mantle was slated to sit out the next day game.
The game was tight and Stengel called mantel to pinch hit. They said he had a blinding headache. hit a 540 ft+ shot and went all the way into the locker room and they stripped him and gave him a cold shower.
Maybe they should have suspended him.
Then there was Doc Ellis throwing a no-no on LSD.
he be trippin
Another Urban Meyer thug. See Aaron Hernandez.
That was Bryant’s second fall, maybe even third. Anybody thinking Goodell is out of control needs to remember the summer before he came in, when there was a Bengal getting arrested every other week, and a non-Bengal in the weeks between. The league was having a serious image problem, and in came Mr Law and Order and the Personal Conduct Policy that functionally outlaws bad press. Players need to keep their noses clean, it ain’t that hard to not fail the drug tests, and not beat up your girl.
Or maybe the Cowboys bring in players that can’t keep on the right side of the law. They’ve got a long history of character issue players, even put a few in the Hall of Fame.
I am not defending anything Zek may have or may have not done... but if there are not any charges by the police or court, how can he be found guilty?
If the so-called 'domestic violence' happened before Zek signed an NFL contract... again, how can he be punished?
Look, I'll be the first to admit there is a lot of thugish behavior committed by NFL players and most skate because money does talk, but--
Goodell looks to be believing his word... is the only Kim Jong-un--
Racist NFL!!! < /sarc >
IMO the NFL has the same bias as does the NBA. They want east coast and left coast teams in the playoffs. The NBA hates that the Spurs are contenders every year. In fact there are some new rules coming down in the NBA against resting players when the game is on national TV. Popovitch did that once against Miami and it cost the team a big fine. Of course what the NBA was really pi$$ed about was that the Spurs bench almost beat the full strength Heat in that game.
Roid Rage.

I can see why the league wants the Marque players on display but it appears they are taking the game out of the coaches hands.
Next it will ‘force’ the teams to ‘fake an injury’ to be able to rest a player.
BUT, kind of like the house rules for ‘your kid’ living in the basement.
Sometimes you have to make so many rules - just to get him/her to move out.
TAKE MY MONEY, HOSPITALITY etc LIVE BY MY RULES.

On May 18, 2016, Elliott signed his four-year rookie contract reportedly worth $24.9 million with a $16.3 million signing bonus.[31]
2016 season
Elliott was named the Dallas Cowboys' starting running back going into the regular season, ahead of veterans Alfred Morris and Darren McFadden. In his professional debut, he had 20 rushing attempts for 51 rushing yards and scored his first career touchdown on an 8-yard run against the New York Giants. The following game against the Washington Redskins, Elliott had 21 carries for 83 yards and a touchdown but also fumbled twice, losing one of them. In a Week 3 matchup against the Chicago Bears, he posted his first game with over a hundred yards and finished Dallas' second consecutive victory with 30 rushing attempts for 140 rushing yards. On October 9, 2016, Elliott helped his team defeat the Cincinnati Bengals 2814 and rushed for 134 yards on 15 attempts and scored two rushing touchdowns, including a 60-yard touchdown. The next week the Cowboys played the Green Bay Packers, and Elliott continued his four-game streak with over a hundred yards after carrying the ball 28 times for 157 rushing yards.[32]

NFL statement
Over the course of the last year, the league conducted an extensive investigation. League investigators interviewed more than a dozen witnesses, including Ms. Tiffany Thompson, who had alleged multiple instances of physical violence in July 2016, and Mr. Elliott. The league also consulted with medical experts. League investigators examined all available evidence, including photographic and digital evidence, thousands of text messages and other records of electronic communications.
