The Russian lawyer was not an agent for the Russian state. She denies it now, and she never claimed to be one. Nor can it be Constitutionally illegal to impart or receive information from any source whatsoever regarding criminal activities by others.
HRC is getting away with far worse. She clearly “colluded” with Russia on other matters, and AFAIK sold state secrets for which she should be hung.
They did!!!!
I am trying to think of a crime for this. Attempted acceptance of a solicitation to freely provide negative facts on an opposing candidate from an individual who has no such facts and does not provide any in a 15 minute meeting. Seems to me the person showing up for the meeting could have been alleged “Trump cheerleader” Putin himself and we still do not have a crime unless a definitive quid pro quo of government favors can be proven.Oh, that’s right, he is not even an elected official and has no government favors to barter.Wasnt this called campaign politics in the old days? Is there or was there ever a presidential candidate campaign staff in history that would not take such a meeting including Hillary and Obama? Now all of a sudden the DNC mouthpiece NYT is trying to attach a somethinggate to it.
What is “Not good” about this?
The fact that liberals are trying to shove another nothing-burger down our throats?
Jr. beat them to the punch by releasing the emails.
OH NO IT’S COLLUSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Between the son of a candidate and a Russian lawyer.
to destroy our country with evil!!
I knew it all along!
The emails were just a bunch of crap. I find nothing in there that makes me want to say...OMG...
A nothing burger.
McCain did the same thing.
Picked up a dossier, from Russians, with supposedly damaging information on Trump.
McCain was told there was information on Trump, which could affect the campaign, and he had it picked up. Everyone associated with this is the same thing...
A nothing burger.
Bad optics, at least.
The article needs to be formatted.
It doesn’t matter.
Meeting with someone who says that they have information about your political opponent is legal.
Neither the person’s ethnicity, nor their associations, changes that.
Russians are not bad.
The whole thing is a redirection from a constructive domestic agenda, like tax cuts and infrastructure...
...and the invasion of The West.
At the same time, Obama was playing games with Putin.
There were a whole string of events connected to the adoption restriction. I think part of it was Russia said...no Russian children to gays.
Clinton sold a big chunk of Uranium production to the Russians. Russian sources put big bucks into the Clinton Slush Fundation. Russian source paid Bill Clinton 500 000 for a speech.Russia got a LOT of quo for its quids.
I agree. While I have generally been highly skeptical of a lot of these so called reports because of where most of them are coming from. this is not coming from the leftist press. I am not sure if this is illegal, but it is disturbing. I am forced to ask myself what would we be saying if it was one of the Clinton Cartel who was getting dirt on Trump from a foreign power? I am reserving judgement here, but you are right. This doesn’t look good.
They're not asking this question because it presents them with an inescapable dilemma:
1. If the lawyer had nothing on Hillary Clinton, then the "collusion" nonsense disappears ... and it really was just a meeting about Russian adoptions.
2. If the lawyer did have incriminating evidence against Hillary Clinton, then that itself makes her: (A) unfit to serve as president by any measure (she'd clearly be exposed to blackmail if elected); and (B) the person who should immediately become the focus of any investigation related to the 2016 election.
Not good.ROTFLMAO! I can't believe anyone would fall for this. I mean, really. This is beyond silly to the point it is comically preposterous. So, the Russian government is going to send an unsecured email through a British publicist acting as proxy? Really? Have we as an information consuming public become this dull?
Lol..you guys act like she would admit it. You know the son in law of an President of Azerbaijan (now divorced) and son of oligarch is involved in this mess
They used a cut out. Motive unclear. Trying to trap Jr is one possibility.
Paragraphs ringing a bell? Doofus.
We wouldn't even know about it. All the times the DEMs and McCain undertake consultation with a foreigner to get dirt on an opponent, the dirt becomes the news. The times they go fishing and come back without anything, we never hear about.
Riddle me this: If Trump, Jr. had come back with documentation that showed Hillary perpetrated a pay-for-play in the release of US Uranium, would that amount to "campaign collusion with the Russians"?
I hope Trump means to repay all this in the same well deserved and this time real coin.
