FULL TITLE: Terminally ill baby Charlie Gard's parents 'upset' after losing final appeal in European court - meaning their son's life support WILL be switched off
The parents of terminally-ill baby Charlie Gard are 'upset' and facing fresh heartbreak after losing their final appeal in the European Court of Human Rights.
Chris Gard, 32, and Connie Yates, 31, wanted to take their 10-month-old son - who suffers from a rare genetic condition and has brain damage - to the US to undergo a therapy trial.
Doctors at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London, where Charlie is being cared for, said they wanted him to be able to 'die with dignity'.
But the couple, from Bedfont, west London, raised almost £1.4million so they could take their son to America but a series of courts ruled in favour of the British doctors.

thank you
Didn’t they want to bring the kid to the US for treatment on their own dime?
Flux government and its ilk denying the parents their rights. Lets pray this baby has a miracle healing.
I don’t mean to sound unkind, but thinking about the two young parents, this prolonged, still unresolved tension can’t be easy on the marriage. I suspect one of the couple wants to try for a second child, while the other parent won’t even hear of such an idea, and feels they may never be ready for more children.
This is where the right elder relative, or priest, rabbi or even family counselor can help sort things out.
There are likely many urgent thoughts each has privately that remain private, and are never voiced or shared.
Every person has a right to extraordinary care if they, (or a minor child’s parents) choose.
The parents have the money. Hope prolifers in Britain rally around and bring the baby here.
Let us pray.
Amen.
Having just heard about a 14 yr old who went for regular wisdom tooth extraction...stopped breathing...massive brain damage.dead...all the prayers in the world didn’t help him...or his devastated parents.

Why Do Bad Things Happen to Good People?

I read that they did. They raised a lot of dough, six figures worth online.
But the UK National Health Service isn’t letting them pursue treatment in the good ole USA.
Why on earth can’t the parents make this decision for their child?
Would it have anything to do with Socialism?
Well yeah... but this is insane. True death panels...
Here is what gov’t healthcare doesn’t...take a hard look because this is our future if we get single payer healthcare...
No need to wait until then. Hospital ethics boards make decision like this quite often. Many times they contradict the express wishes of the family.
This is an especially heart breaking ping. And the comments at the Daily Mail are horrific. The most vile comments get the most up-votes, and anyone displaying support for Charlie with comments like "where there is life, there is hope" get downvoted. If you ever wondered what kind of people could label others "useless eaters" and march them into ovens, here they are.
Death panels... Bought to you by Socialize Medicine...
I’ve seen this story twice now and still don’t get it. They had raised some money for treatment - why didn’t they just get on a plane and leave?
Yes, but we can't have any of the freedom stuff or the peasants might revolt.
The masters know what's best for us, and it's our duty to die for them and their agenda like good little drones.
And I know people who experienced miraculous recoveries due to prayer.
So now what?
