WASHINGTON (ABC7) — A new report has been released by an independent group on the investigation into the death of DNC worker Seth Rich, who was murdered last July in DC.

Rich's killer remains on the loose, and for months now a group of George Washington University grad students, called the Profiling Project, have been digging into the case.

The Profiling Project released their initial report on the investigation Tuesday in press conference.

I’ve been reading the report, too, and when I got to that section, I read it with complete disbelief at the assertions they made. They said that in order for it to be an ordered hit, Seth would’ve needed to die right there. Ludicrous! It could’ve been a “warning” kind of hit, or it could be like you said, that the hitman wasn’t a top professional. Maybe he was just some thug that was asked to do the job. Even hired assassins aren’t perfect every time.

I think they’ll go for a Sandra Levy ending on this one and soon. Some illegal alien will “confess” to the murder and say he was trying to rob Mr. Rich.

If it was a pro job then the killer was brought to do the deed and left the community immediately thereafter.

Is it too much to ask our Justice Department whether they’re aware of the questions regarding Seth Rich’s murder and whether they are investigating? It is our government after all. Aren’t we entitled to an answer to that basic question? Same goes for the Clinton Foundation and all the other scandals floating around out there. Does the Justice Department have a press briefing where people are given the opportunity to ask these sorts of questions? If not, they should.

These guys need to go to the George Webb school of citizen journalism. They don't have a clue. Webb has singlehandedly exposed more than these clowns and then put it all on video.He fingered the killers and Alpha Jollah is still alive.These guys better go back to class. They didn't learn much.
Maybe Webb can be a guest professor for them.

Newsweek jumps on the idea that Rich's death is the work of a “serial killer,” rather than a professional assassin. The sole reason for this is that Rich didn't die at the scene. Given the evidence that Rich was deliberately targeted, it seems more reasonable to conclude only that his killer wasn't a top pro - not that his death was not a hit.

If he were involved in a major political scandal, wouldn't the killer have been a "top pro"?

And what's the evidence that he was "deliberately targeted," rather than just somebody in the wrong place at the wrong time?

If somebody targeted him and a lot was at stake why were they so amateurish?

The idea that somebody killed him for a thrill or for the hell of it fits with a lot of what we know.

Yes, but my mother doesn't read FR, and thinks I'm a political Space Cadet. (She also reads the Palm Beach Post which has David Brooks as one of their weekly "On the Right" op-ed columnists!) But my mother might see something on ABC. It's a bigger opening than Drudge.

We may never know why Seth was targeted for attack

Kinda sounds like: "We'll never know what drew him away from us." (Bill Clinton in his Vince Foster eulogy back in July 1993)

Wikileaks says no state actor was involved in the DNC leaks and other leaks, and they are leaks and not hacks.

No state actor means Russian government was not involved and that was repeatedly confirmed by Assange.

Is this a summation of Webb’s theory ?

Seth Rich was the leaker. To the English guy. To wikileaks via flash drive.

Within days the leak was discovered. Crowdstrike (the DNC IT people) created docs that looked like Russian hacks but left their own ID footprints within the doc so we know it wasn’t the Russians, it was the Crowdsource IT group trying to set up a hack vs a leak. (They refused to have the FBI inspect their computers after the FBI warned them that they were susceptible to hacking)((They were also involved later in the “pee-pee dossier”)).

There was an email later discovered from Podesta saying “we need to make an example of this leaking”. Seth Rich was targeted as the leaker from within.

Jolla from the Awan Bros ratline sent the 2 guys from SC to kill him, and they were later found murdered in SC. Or Jolla did it.

Rich mysteriously died in the hospital after several staffers said he was out of danger.
