Right now, Warner Bros. is riding high on the success of Wonder Woman, and by all means, they should be. After getting slammed in 2016 for their two entries in the DC Extended Universe, many fans and critics seemed ready to follow suit with Wonder Woman. Luckily for the studio and luckily for us the film turned out to be a damn good entry, and the narrative seems to have been shifted to a more hopeful one for this universe. And yet, there does seem to be this feeling that were at some sort of stalemate with DC Films. Yes, theyve announced a TON of films: Nightwing, Batgirl, Gotham City Sirens, Wonder Woman 2, Suicide Squad 2, The Batman none of which were on their original slate of movies several years back. And yet, while they keep dropping film titles like nobodys business, we still dont quite know the status of their other movies the ones they initially announced that have yet to hit theaters. With all these announcements, youd expect wed get SOME release dates, but Warner Bros. has been quite mum on the specifics. So what is the status of the DC Extended Universe? In extensive breakdown of the current state of the DCEU, Forbes contributor Mark Hughes mentioned that Warner Bros. seems to be in a bit of a holding pattern. The truth is, a lot is riding on how 2017 pans out. The studio wants to see how Wonder Woman performs (so far so good on that front) and how Justice League turns out, before they barrel ahead with multiple more films every year. More films will get made, don't worry, but it makes sense to ease off the gas a little and be certain about the best route ahead. In the past, we have criticize Warner Bros. for being very reactionary, and in truth thats only half the story. It only bothers us when theyre reactionary and have to actively backpedal or change the direction of a project as its in production or post-production. So long as they react to feedback in the development process, we think the projects have a much better chance of being a success, as the feedback wont be half-assedly implemented partway through production. However, theyre not just waiting on performance reports. Theyre also reorganizing, based on the recent shakeup, forming of DC Films, announcement of new projects, hiring of talent, and everything in between. Because of this rapid period of change for them, it's only logical for them to take a step back and get their ducks in a row, rather than rushing to get two films a year out, as originally planned.More likely (meaning not 100% certain), we'll see a steady stream of [DC films] starting after 2018, perhaps one per year, alongside the other DCU releases. And for the most part, that's because (a) the filmmakers working on those films are at various stages of development on those pictures and/or other projects, (b) the DCU has faced some reshuffling of plans and personnel, and (c) Warner needs to step back and look at what they have with the DCU this year and make sure they're certain everything is on the right track going forward. While its a bit disappointing that well likely have to wait some time before getting any real meaningful news, but if that means Warner Bros. will have a better slate of films planned, then were all for it. - See more at: http://lrmonline.com/news/dc-extended-universe-warner-bros-reportedly-waiting-on-justice-leagues-performance-before-moving-forward#sthash.a4iMS5w1.dpuf Read more at: https://tr.im/1RPhu
Concerned about not making enough money off of ANTI-AMERICAN and ANTI-CHRISTIAN movies?
One good movie means unleash a torrent of superhero movies.
Whoopee! America needs more infantilism.
What a horrible casting choice!!!
I’m glad to see Wonder Woman is making money, and I believe it’s because it’s not as dark as so many of the previous DCU films. I liked Man of Steel and Dark Knight, but the other two Batman movies and Suicide Squad were pretty lousy.
I understand Zack Snyder left Justice League as director and has been replaced with Joss Whedon. Whedon is an insufferable liberal asshole but I thought Avengers he did for MCU was excellent. Batman v Superman was mediocre but I watched the whole thing.
Some of the films they said are in the DCU pipeline are not at all of interest to this fanboy.
I’m ready to watch Dr Strange and Logan on PPV, and may try to catch GotG 2 before it leaves theaters. Not particularly interested in Spider-man Homecoming. Loved Legion tv show on FX. Daredevil on Netflix was worth watching; Jessica Jones not so much.
Lighten up! You'll give yourself a heart attack!
Super heroes are timeless. Superman, Green Lantern, Flash, Wonder Woman and Batman were all invented in the 1930's and 1940's. They were the entertainment of the greatest generation. I see teenagers and small children wearing super hero logo clothing that they have no idea of the origins of. It is really quite gratifying to know that my parents were young when this stuff started out, and my grandchildren are enjoying it today. I don't think that continuing a tradition 80 years old is infantile at all. It honors the people of the time.
The problem Hollywood is facing right now are with movies that are ANTI-ENTERTAINING.
“Im glad to see Wonder Woman is making money, and I believe its because its not as dark as so many of the previous DCU films”
Comic movies are escapist fantasy. They should be fun, above all else. DCs movies before WW feel like the weight of the world is on them. They treat them as if they are serious cinema. The scenes are dark, the music is dark, they all have dark filters like Snapchat uses, everyone scowls...its a wonder anyone enjoyed them.
WW was also dark and serious in color and music but she was hopeful as a character and that made a big difference.
I happen to enjoy superhero movies. Much more entertaining and often more thought provoking than real life genre movies.
I think that who_would_fardels_bear’s comment about infantilism is referring to the fact that there are actual adults who go to watch this drivel.
Of course, with the themes that they mix into these stupid movies, I would not want children to see them either.
There’s no reason for adults not to see them. Superheroes are America’s mythology. Greeks didn’t stop going to plays about the gods when they became adults. Baba Yaga inspired symphonies enjoyed by adults. Shakespeare was inspired by Fairy. Your culture’s mythology is for all ages.

Sorry, but I do not share your view.
Dark Knight Rising was “pretty lousy?”
Wow.
I didn’t like it. Thought it was the worst of the Nolan Batman trilogies. 1.2 M plus reviews on IMdB give it an overall average rating, so it’s clear I’m in the minority.
I would prefer to see HULK SMASH. Bring on Thor 3.
It’s not a view. It’s reality. These are our myths. Myths are for all ages.
Overall average rating if 8.5, I unintentionally left out.
If you don’t like it, then ignore these threads. It’s impolite to jump on a thread to tell posters you don’t like the subject matter.
DC should stick the TV shows
