How do we explain, then, a son who has not talked to me since the election and put out on Facebook that his parents are racist, bigoted, homophobes?

I have tried to contact him, but he won’t answer me. I am heartbroken.

Being rejected by a child has to be the worst kind of pain.

May God help you.

Well, don’t give him anything. Especially don’t give him money. It makes the problem MUCH worse. I’ve seen families ripped apart because of money.
If he wants to wallow in his Hate, that’s his decision. All white people are racist in the eyes of some so he is just as guilty as you.
When my brother starts on Trump, I just respond “Hillary couldn’t even beat him. What’s that say about her?”.

I’m so sorry to hear that. Hopefully he will come to his senses soon. My parents were extreme leftists and when I finally did get interested in politics I joined the republican party, much to my parent’s dismay. My dad would even yell at me sometimes when some political issue came up, I thought he was going to disown me. I finally learned not to ever talk about anything political, even changing the subject if mentioned.

Sorry to hear that. Adult children just don’t know sometimes, what is precious in life.

“Since the election” are the key words. It shows that it’s not your opinions so much as the fact that your side won. Big babies who can’t stand to lose.

I am very sorry for your loss.

I offer myself as a stand in.

I clean up well.

My dad, one of my last surviving relatives, is an unthinking, mouth-breathing, credulous leftist, and he doesn’t even know it.

It has caused me a lot of sadness. I have no family left that does not hate my beliefs and values.

CBS Evening News tells him what to think.
