I think she should sue. Injecting politics and support for a controversial life style into the game was totally unnecessary and created a hostile playing field.
False argument.
The standard jersey which she had worn before and under which she trained for the team was changed mid-stream to celebrate a behavior having nothing whatsoever to do with the sport of playing for the US soccer team. She did not have to give consent to endorse homofaggotocracy in order to join the team, and forcing her to do so in order play is indeed persecution.
Get real.
FReegards!
She should have simply played without the sodomy-themed jersey and let the team deal with her.
I think your friend’s is a different type of story altogether. The play is a whole, prostitutes and all. What was she doing performing in it if she had a problem with the depiction of prostitution?
That was such an awesome episode, because is was so politically incorrect. Summed up the Gaystapo perfectly.
First of all, the NFL has not punished Kaepernick. But requiring some minimal showing of respect for one’s country, symbolized by the flag, is very different from requiring support for gays, gay-ness, gay sex... All Americans are called to support America (elsewise, they should hit the road and find another country). What each of intends by that support, how each of us views America, etc... may differ, sometimes greatly, but having a poor opinion of Kaepernick for his refusal to stand is far different from not allowing an athlete to compete for her country unless she publically expresses support for conduct that was considered a felony at the country’s founding. I wish sports would get back to being sports, actors would stick to acting and comedians would actually tell jokes instead of political diatribes.
Their jerseys change all the time.
So you are suggesting that one person should be given veto power over the colors of the national team's jerseys?
I admire her stand here, but she is not being persecuted. She's doing all of this voluntarily. Has she (or anyone else) stood up and asked the national team to use different colors on its jerseys? I'll bet not.
Maybe I wasn’t clear. She was offered the role but when she found out that it involved performing in the prostitute scene and she read the lyrics, she turned it down. I’m guessing you have not seen or heard the song. It’s pretty explicit. I love the movie and the story but have not watched it yet with my teen age granddaughter because of that scene and one other.
There’s a big difference between changing your jersey colors or your logo design versus adding a symbol that forces the team members to promote homosexuality telling them that cannot play. I don’t think kneeling before the altar of sodomy was a prerequisite for joining the team.
Agreed.
.. not allowing an athlete to compete for her country unless she publically expresses support for conduct that was considered a felony at the countrys founding.

Veto power...Hell yes if it is offensive to one’s faith, why not consider her position...Seems we are doing it for Islam all the time these days...
Careful...from your posts, some might conclude that you are saying the requirement that soccer players be forced to wear pro LGBT(Q and whatever else) is perfectly fine?
What’s next? Hijabs? Uniforms supporting Pedophilia? Yes those things might seem extreme, but they are coming.
This is one definition of persecution:
To persecute is to make someone suffer or to keep them in bad circumstances.
To be an Olympic level soccer player who has to choose between their faith and what they have spent their entire life on Earth working towards really is a form of persecution—it is causing suffering and a bad circumstance...
She chose to gracefully withdraw...not to publicly fight this (Neither I nor ~you~ know what transpired in private, so we should not be commenting on it)) Had she, no doubt she would have faced major suffering and bad circumstances.
I think this requirement by USA Soccer is outrageous. I also think the passive acceptance of this PC creep by timid Christians is a large part of the reason why our society is in the place it is.
Personally, I think anyone who values their Christian faith would do well to shed any national identity here in the U.S. of any kind -- in terms of recognizing national sports teams or even the moral legitimacy of their own government.
1. Ordering the team to change its name before I play for it?
2. Demanding that I be released from any obligations to play for them if I want to play in the NHL?
I did that without verbal or written acknowledgement. Hmmm.
Interesting. That's almost the exact same narrative I read last week from a female Olympic athlete who got pregnant and killed her own unborn baby so it wouldn't interfere with the Olympic dream that she had spent her entire life on Earth working towards.
Let's get real, folks. Christian athletes should all be prepared to walk away from their sports dreams if those dreams include competing for a secular, pagan, diabolical nation like ours.
We're talking about an effing game here, aren't we?
Putting this athlete on the same level as a Christian baker who is persecuted for refusing to bake a cake for a homosexual "wedding" is a bit much.
Same here.
Wow 3 replies? Did not think I hit so many nerves.
You and I have a very different perspective on this issue—I am guessing you never were an elite athlete or never had one in the family, and, therefore, you simply don’t understand the sacrifices that are made for “just a game.” as you say in another of your posts...If you were or had an elite athlete in your family, I am certain that your perspective would not be what it is...
Ordering? Your example does not work for this situation. She did not order the team to do anything...she very gracefully walked away—a very sacrificial act...
Your example does however support the political correctness that has infected our culture and our country. Shared by many PC people who believe that we need to be tolerant of pretty much any and all beliefs except for those of Christian faith.
I wrote my post more for others because your reasoning was not sound IMHO...If my memory serves, you are one who will not budge and has to get in the last word...so feel free to respond, but I am done.
We will just have to agree to disagree.
Good day
