California lawmakers voted to pass a bill Wednesday that will add a third gender option — non-binary — on state identification cards.

Senate Bill 179, introduced by Sen. Tori Atkins, will now move onto Assembly after the 26-12 Senate vote. If it passes Assembly, California Gov. Jerry Brown can sign the measure into law, making California the first state to add a third gender option on IDs.

In addition to changing the gender selection on driver’s licenses, the bill would also allow three options for birth certificates, identity cards and gender change court orders.

The bill, if signed into law, will allow minors to apply for a gender change on their birth certificates with parental or guardian consent. […]

Senate Bill 310, if signed into law after passing through assembly, guarantees prison inmates the right to ask the court for gender change or name change. In addition, the bill states that if a name or gender change is granted to an inmate, then correction officers must refer to a prisoner by their new alias. …

With all the illegals voting in California, it is turning into a third world country.

I’d say a second-world country. Formerly industrialized and filling with squalor, run by a one-party rubber stamp government.

The lunacy in California continues. We know they’re trendsetters so the rest of the lefties around the country will push for this too.

“Other” would have been a better option.

That’s the thing. When these policies fail, then the leftists in these states immediate run to the federal government to implement it nationwide, so that ALL states can suffer. That’s why the Founders were ahead of their time with the ideals of federalism.

Does the California State Legislature do anything except sit around passing tranny bills all the time?

That's not even hyperbole, this feels like the fifth one these articles I've read over the past couple of months, all different ones too. I guess this is the kind of 'good government' you can expect to get from a Democratic Governor and Democratic super majority. Maybe they'll remember the other 99.7% of Californians eventually.

Surprised it's even with parental consent.

In addition, the bill states that if a name or gender change is granted to an inmate, then correction officers must refer to a prisoner by their new alias.

Will they be moved to the other sex prison? If not, that shows what a farce the 'change' really is.

I go on sites like FB, Yahoo and the Slimes and do battle with the lefties. As a former Democrat it finally dawned on me about ten years ago that the party was going extreme radical left, and it was taking the country down a path I didn’t want to go down. Common sense will tell you that the policies the left are pursuing are all wrong. I’m always hopeful that enough Dems will have their “reawakening” to help us save the country. Right now I have to admit that’s still an iffy proposition. Still too many uninformed kool-aid drinkers amongst our countrymen.

I honestly feel sorry for my old friends in California who are tethered there by family or employment and won't be able make it out before things get even worse, or collapse altogether.

We made our exit in 2002 and were fortunate to sell out at a high point in the housing market pay cash for our Idaho property where we have a nicer rural lakeside home with no traffic, beautiful views, mountains and critters around us ...AND the taxes are less than half.

One flew over the cuckoo’s nest. The inmates have taken control of the asylum and are billing the taxpayer for their insane joy tide.
