Tour of Mars assembled from NASA images reveals a wondrous uninviting planet (video)

Since it first began orbiting Mars in 2006, the HiRISE (High-Resolution Imaging Science Experiment), a powerful camera attached to the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, has captured some 50,000 images of the planet. Its photographs have given scientists unprecedented access to Mars’s canyons, craters, mountains and sand dunes – the most detailed looks at the topography of another planet to date. In making A Fictive Flight Above Real Mars, the Finnish filmmaker Jan Fröjdman transformed stereoscopic anaglyphs taken by HiRISE into coloured, seemingly three-dimensional moving images, giving viewers something resembling the experience of a leisurely flight above our neighbouring planet. While often breathtaking, the video depicts unmistakably desolate, barren landscapes, hostile to human life, and still very far from a place to call home.

And they also just released some statement that due to human caused climate change or something, there is a boundary on space, even though they did atmospheric nuclear tests on this “boundary” in the late 50’s and early sixties... Operation Fishbowl (ha ha) and Operation Dominic (a nod to the Creator).

I am amazed that some people still think that we did not land on the moon. Yes, we don’t have anything right now that will get us out of low earth orbit, shoot, NASA does not have anything to get us up to low earth orbit right now. That does not mean we didn’t have in the past, or will not have in the future.

Very cool video. Gives a good sense of a three dimensional image. Very strange square-cornered formations at 3:14 in the video. They look almost like foundations.

Ummm.... not sure where to start with the foolishness of your statements.

You do understand this nation had a technological revolution since the nineteen sixties, correct? And you are saying that NASA had more advanced technology that “got them to the moon” then than they do NOW?

Please wake up and remember who worked for NASA in the early days (Nazis) and how much money they have taken from American taxpayers, and then think about why Obama said NASA’s mission was having to do with Muslims. Or something Islamic.

Spot-on. The simple fact of the matter is that NASA was unsure how the astronauts would fare, health-wise, after going to the moon in an unshielded spacecraft.

Mars has mo appreciable magnetosphere. So coupled with the yearlong journey blasted by cosmic and solar radiation and the fact that being on the surface of Mars is only marginally -better than the moon’s surface, all this talk of “manned mission to Mars” is about a one-way trip.

We should focus on hard science here and not expend meager resources on literal flights of fancy.

You first: please provide an actual photograph of the earth from space.

An actual photo, showing the shape of the earth, not a computer composite. And not a low orbit shot with a wide angle lens.

The "NASA blue marbles" are all fake and at least two of them have "Sex" written on their CGI created "clouds"... (Both the 2012 NASA Blue Marble and the 2015 "EPIC" blue marble inexplicably have the word Sex written in their "cloud cover")

I'm not up on all of the Disney masonic reasons about why the word "sex" is written in a lot of their landscapes, but NASA is doing the same thing as in this Lion King shot:
