Actor Tom Hanks is on the beat in New York City, using Twitter to alert police to a car with a slew of tickets on its windshield.
Turns out the tickets were paid.

It offended Tom Hanx sensibilities. Twit. Think the police would’ve followed up on anyone else’s tweet?
Tom must have a lot of spare time these days.
His last three movies have been big bombs.
Every dog has his day. Maybe Tom’s acting persona was more in vogue a decade or two ago. Same with Will Smith. Both pleasant guys and forever wealthy, but somewhat limited in the roles they can convincingly play.
Senator Cory Booker used to do a lot of ‘Here I Come To Save The Day!!’ scenarios like this some years ago.
To be fair, in NYC it is not out of the realm of possibility that the car hasn’t been moved because there’s a dead body inside.
But usually, the cars are towed long before a “slew” occurs
Hanks Twitters, “why not just have the chauffeur take the car back to the garage?”
Let me guess, was it because all those trees died for the paper?
A parked car with slew of unpaid tickets belongs to someone at the UN ,LOL
Good chance the NYPD monitors their Twitter account (s) & responds. Hanks has gone off the Left edge, mainly I believe b/c of the influence of his wretched wife. Doing “broken windows” reporting to law enforcement is ok, IMO. Citizen vigilance is critical to maintaining safe communities. I will give credit to Hanks for his support in getting the WWII Memorial funded & built...as uninspiring and unworthy of the Greatest Generation as it may be.
Seriously???
Did you see Forest Gump, Apollo 13, Castaway, The Green Mile, Bachelor Party, Big???
The Jerk. That was my car!
Gotta agree with mountn man — Hanks has proved himself to be a versatile actor, despite his drift to the Left. He really is one of only a handful artists who compare favorably with Golden Age actors. To me, Hanks matches up with such as Spencer Tracy or Paul Muni.
At Wash St U, back in the day, this maroon Jaguar sedan would park in no parking zones and always had tickets under the wipers.
It was the car of the only Amish on the B-Ball team.
I might disagree with his politics, but think he is probably one of the best actors of this generation, and an equal of many of the golden age, as you said.
Yes say what you will, but Hanks has had a tremendous career and variety of roles both in acting and producing. Also “Saving Pvt. Ryan”, “The Polar Express” and even “Bosom Buddies”. Just to name a few others.
Paul Muni I had never heard of until today. A six time Academy Award Nominee. Most active during the 30’s and 40’s. Died almost 50 years ago.
Don’t forget his best work, “Bachelor Party.”
If it were a group of muslims carrying bombs and other weapons, Tom would not want to offend them and he would probably not alert the police.
He is a good actor, his movies are mostly entertaining to me. And that is all he needs to be recognized for, he is an entertainer, same as a good clown at a circus. The recent movie, “Hologram for the King” was awful though. I could not get past the first 30 minutes.
