It is urgent for Americans to think and speak clearly about President Trumps inability to do either. This seems to be not a mere disinclination but a disability. It is not merely the result of intellectual sloth but of an untrained mind bereft of information and married to stratospheric self-confidence.
In February, acknowledging Black History Month, Trump said that Frederick Douglass is an example of somebody whos done an amazing job and is getting recognized more and more, I notice. Because Trump is syntactically challenged, it was possible and tempting to see this not as a historical howler about a man who died 122 years ago, but as just another of Trumps verbal fender benders, this one involving verb tenses...
What is most alarming (and mortifying to the University of Pennsylvania, from which he graduated) is not that Trump has entered his eighth decade unscathed by even elementary knowledge about the nations history. As this column has said before, the problem isnt that he does not know this or that, or that he does not know that he does not know this or that. Rather, the dangerous thing is that he does not know what it is to know something...

“Go while you still have an ounce of dignity.”
YES!!! I just hope he becomes more irrelevant as the days go by.......;)
Trumps knows THIS history:
George Will is a boring crybaby.
Hey George, when you become president you can speak the way you want.
Until then take a hike.
When are we going to start Drug Testing All Journalists engaged in Commercial Speech??
After getting everything wrong about Trump through the long presidential campaign, Will now struggles to find some niche of relevancy.
If Will had any experience in the military or in commerce, he would have met many top leaders that talked like Trump, not like university perfectionists.
I remember well early in my career, meeting oil industry engineers and geologists.
They sounded like hillbillies to me. Then I learned they held MS degrees in engineering and geology, were extremely well read, sophisticated, and lots of fun to be around.
Same thing in building and construction. My Dad was a builder, and taught me to respect people from the beginning.
On the day the builder needs ditches dug, the ditch digger is the most important ne, in his universe.
So goes real life.
George Will lives in a world of intellectual snobs, plain and simple.
The last election pretty much proved the population thinks more of common sense folks with accomplishments, than intellectual snobs and professor types.
Many moons ago, I wrote a vanity analyzing Will's modus operandi: telling a non-referenced historical tale to make people think he's smart, then pontificating on a subject so no one can understand him.
The average person comes away saying, "I don't understand what he said, but he sounds wicked smart." He's been play this con game since the days of David Brinkley -- the longest-running fake commentator in the MSM.
George Will is the only kind of "conservative" that WaPo can tolerate -- a bowtie odd fish that can be easily dismissed as a crackpot.
The Tower of Babble vs. the Tower of Trump

Was glad when Fox News did not renew his visits to the panel on Special Report...but since then I've left Special Report also...
That's the whole thing. These pundits are not paid to be conservatives. They are paid to PRETEND to advocate conservatism, while working hard to torpedo real conservatives.
Freddie Douglass is a minor character, a side note. If it were not for his skin color you would have never heard of him.
Mr. George the atheist, your one day closer to dying and going to hell.
NBC/MSNBC job questionnaire that George Will was filling out:
Question: What do you think of Donald Trump?
George Will: Trump has a dangerous disability
NBC/MSNBC HR person: You’re HIRED!
Amen.......guys like George cant see the forest for the trees.
When was the last time George Will wrote something this spiteful about a lib. Trump is up there fighting the good fight and Will uses his column inches to bite Trump’s ankles.
I’d tell George to stuff his bow tie up his butt, sideways, except I’m pretty sure George would enjoy it...
Thanks for the posts;pings. Won’t read Will (haven’t in years). Irrelevant.
