A college football star who is slated to be chosen at next week's NFL Draft has been charged with beating a woman unconscious. Caleb Brantley, a defensive lineman who attended the University of Florida, faces a misdemeanor battery charge, according to a police report obtained by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. Police in Gainesville, Florida, say that Brantley hit his alleged victim, 20-year-old Chelsea Austin, in the face and that 'use of force was clearly out of retaliation and not self-defense.' Brantley, 22, told police that Austin hit him in the face first. Austin confirmed to police that she did strike Brantley initially, according to WTSP-TV.

True, but you’re supposed to keep a lid on that behavior until AFTER the contract is signed!...............
He can always be a number one pick in the Moslem league
Tim Tebow also
The Gator’s off-the-field antics still haven’t recovered from the Urban Meyer days.
Not at all to excuse what he did, but I do have issue with the “disproportionate force” concept. Like if someone hits you over the head with a bike lock, is shooting him “disproportionate force?”
If you use “disrespect” as a verb, I know absolutely everything I need to know about you.
The Daily Mail screwed up the headline. The woman hit him after she felt “disrespected”. He then retaliated. “Austin told police that she hit Brantley after the former Florida defensive lineman ‘disrespected her.’
“Attended” is the active verb.
I saw that. In fact, they were teammates. What opposites. Figures my home state has the loser.

What is “NFL?”

Nah!
The 40 winos will give him a “krappernik” slot if nobody else will.
Football is dead.

I’m just saying, it hasn’t been at all difficult for me to avoid fisticuffs with college-football persons.
I’ve no skin in this but this is another example of the downward trend in our society when women think so little of men that they believe they’re justified in hitting them.
Not to justify his actions, I’ll assume what is being really said here is “he went too far”. He has every right to defend himself when assaulted, regardless of the gender of the attacker.
...it’s on both sides, but yes, most likely, he’ll be lucky to play in the NFL given the current political nature of the league.
My thoughts too..it seems to be loaded with animals like the one that just hung himself.
