"Dao's lawyer on TV right now...litigating this case in public...."

You're spot on, Boomer.

I find this press conference repelling. The issue is being litigated on TV, possibly tainting any jury pool, whipping up public opinion and sympathy for the poor minority victim and his family against a big, bad, rich, powerful and evil corporation.

These attorneys are going for a big settlement pay-off up front, without a trial where both sides can present the FACTS.

I have no idea what really happened, I'm content to wait for more data. At this point, I'm merely observing and commenting on the liberal members of the media blowing this event up into something more earthshaking than the assassination of the Archduke Ferdinand that started WW1...and WHY AND HOW THEY ARE DOING IT.

The way this event has erupted is incredible....and I believe it's obviously apparent that the whole thing has now been snatched up and IS BEING POLITICIZED by the Left as we speak.

Tomorrow, the whole incident will be the fault of President Trump, capitalism, greedy corporations, the GOP, law enforcement, etal....all of whom are racists and oppressors of minorities. You can almost make book that this is what's now taking place and that it will become even more sensationalized.

Don’t think so. Trump already criticizing UA for not “making a deal.” It’s a soft warning to UA that “if you don’t fix this, government will.”

No matter what you think of this guy or this lawyer, the SENTIMENT he is tapping into has been festering for years and airlines have NOT listened to customers. Everyone has had horrible experiences with overbooking-—which technically isn’t against the law but should be. You don’t buy a seat at the Super Bowl then be told, “Oh, we overbooked.” The airlines have already received payment for THAT seat, so they don’t lose money if nobody is in it.

Trust me on this: UA made a monster mistake, letter of the “law” notwithstanding and it will reverberate through the whole industry if they don’t immediately address overbooking. Just a little prediction.

You touchd on a number of good points there.

I agree with your take on it.

I will admit to still wanting to know more, but I’m not as sympathetic to the passenger as others are.

The guy is no more or less important than any other passenger that is bumped as a course of normal business, particularly the three bumped on the same flight, in addition to him.
