OK, I was a great fan of GWB, and joined here in the aftermath of the 2000 election...
HOWEVER...
This MF doesn't say anything, NOT ONE WORD, over the last 8 years of Obama destroying our country, and NOW he's all over the TV talking about how Trump needs to be investigated???
I almost went with knockedbootswithyeomanrand.
But it was too long.
See if it was TK421 I would have recognized that!
OK, donation made to the Freepathon, in thanks for the excellent customer service provided by JimRob on this day. Let’s MAGA everyone, or should it be MFRGA?
Just add a simple line in your tag line “Once admired GW Bush, but no more.”
See obscurity has its advantages. Picking a President as part of your nickname as you have found out is fraught with danger. Imagine if one had been an early Palpatine fan and things unfolded as they did. :)
Jim, on another thread I was lamenting my choice of screen names. Right-wing Librarian alerted me to this thread. RwL said:
“You (bushwon) may want to check out this link below. Jim Rob granted his request for a name change! When I read it, I did think of you!”
As you can see from my name, I have been suffering too...Especially today with W’s comments! Can you put me out of my misery and continued embarrassment by allowing me to change my screen name too?
>>~bushwon, now wishing he hadnt :(
Came ThisClose a few times :)
Settled on a rose with pop and two uncle’s names on the leaves.
All three great men.
First and last tattoo.
Cough Cough..... too long you say.
knockedbootswithyeomanrand
Nope, 4 short.
Count the letters in:

You literally can not have a longer Freeper name. (30 char max)
Winner!
I’ve been in the FR Witness Protection Program for years. Can’t complain. They even let me have my beeber back on weekends.
Jim, YOU ARE THE BEST!
Already got an email from him asking, what I wanted my username to be, and its already changed!
The poster formerly known as Bush_Democrat is now posting as BreitbartSentMe.
Thats why Freepers are the best! Off to do my part in retiring the Freepathon with a donation in honor of the late, great, Andrew Breitbart - wholl join me??
I have put in a request and was planning to do the same :)
You are not alone. Disappointed with the entire family and have been for the past 8 years. He, like others, is not the man we believed him to be. Would enjoy seeing him paint himself into a corner.
Nothing wrong with dead poets either.
"Read my lips: no new taxes" is a phrase spoken by then American presidential candidate George H. W. Bush {41st POTUS} at the 1988 Republican National Convention as he accepted the nomination on August 18. Written by speechwriter Peggy Noonan, the line was the most prominent sound bite from the speech."
Please, someone out there, do some yard maintenance, and burn them BUSH's or at least, take them to the dump, and leave them in a "RECYCLE BIN," for the DemocRATS.
That reminded me of “Hillary’s Lovely Legs”
Waaay back.
Amen to that! My husband and I -- and many FReeper FRiends -- stood out for weeks in the cold, rain and snow (in the northeast) fighting for this guy during the December 2000 Recount, taking all kinds of abuse from vile liberals to boot.
Dubya doesn't say a THING during the eight horrific years Obama was in office, but now he comes out of hiding to bash fellow Republican President Trump?? Beyond disgusting.
I am SO over all of the Bushes, including the one moving up the ladder: George P.
Stay out 'da Bushes!
Looks like you got a wonderful favor granted. :)
One thing that has kept exceptional civilizations exceptional, is the knowledge that a dead poet is just a bird that writes instead of chirping, and is dead.
I am for an immigration policy thats welcoming and upholds the law, Bush said. (multiple sources)
Ok, the first part of that essentially means nothing, other than being "decent", etc., toward people legally entitled to come here. The second part includes vetting of those desiring an immigrant visa to the U.S. That vetting is part of the law, and at least during Bush's terms, was pursued fairly vigorously. (Someone VERY close to me went through that vetting, which was in the process of being ramped up even further at the time.)
I think its very important for all of us to recognize one of our great strengths is for people to be able to worship the way they want to or not worship at all, Bush said. A bedrock of our freedom is the right to worship freely.
People who murder the innocent are not religious people, Bush said. They want to advance an ideology. And we have faced those kind of ideologues in the past.
Well, shoot, if all Muslims are murderers or support murder of innocents*, then Bush has just discredited the whole religion.
*I do not believe this -- there is great difference of thought within the Muslim community; it's just that too few have the courage, of, say, Egypt's Sisi to come out and publicly say things against fundamentalist / radical Islam. But, to be fair, the potential retribution of radicals would alter what many would say or even think.
I consider the media to be indispensable to democracy, Bush said. That we need an independent media to hold people like me to account. Power can be very addictive. And it can be corrosive.
Now, c'mon, FReepers! Actually analyze that statement instead of knee-jerking or falling for the MSM spin. What part of the media is NOT independent? Who are "people like me"? (That sure is not Trump, it seems.) And who are the real power brokers, esp. those least answerable to the people, and corroding our freedoms and society the most?
its kind of hard to tell others to have an independent free press and were not willing to have one ourself.
WHO has the media monopoly (or at least most of it) in this country?
What's happening here is that people are falling for the MSM spin on what Bush says, rather than seeing that he, probably by design, is playing with the semantics.
Now, would I prefer that Bush say "Hey, I'm 100% behind Trump?" Well, no. No one would believe him. What about "As I see it, if this President wants to point out what he sees as unfair coverage, and if that wing of the press wants to criticize him, both have the right to do so, and it is not my place to try to referee." Sure, I'd prefer that, but I'm not an ex-President.
As for the past, Bush was good in some areas, not so good in others, and way better than Gore or Kerry.
Now, it is certainly possible other statements Bush made are more damning. If so, hopefully someone else can find and post them. I am in desperate need of sleep, "tomorrow" is going to be a typical "end-of-month-killer", and it starts for me in 2 hrs.!
zzzzzzzz
Congratulations!
Those sounds that flow
In murmurs of delight and woe
Come not from wings of birds
They are the throngs
Of the poets songs....
Longfellow...birds of passage
