The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation had researchers at Trent Universitys Wildlife Forensic DNA Laboratory test the chicken from several fast food chains, including McDonalds, Wendys, A&W, Tim Hortons and Subway.
Most of the scores were between 85 and 90 percent chicken DNA. Except at Subway.
The oven roasted chicken scored 53.6 percent chicken DNA and the Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki (chicken strips) had just 42.8 percent chicken DNA, according to the CBC Marketplace investigation.

So what else is in the meat? According to the DNA testing, its soy.

. . . as in SOYlent Green.
I know it’s a lefty publication, but this is an interesting article featuring Twinkies and chicken Mc nugget ingredients:
Never understood the appeal of that place.
You have the most hilarious profile. But I think it is bit on the non-fiction side. Just guessing.
I stopped going to Subway when a bunch of them decided to ONLY use Halal meats.
You really think Subway would tell you that their “chicken” is half soy ?
I wondered why my breasts were growing. Here and I thought I was just getting fat.
Yeah, the coffee is probably made from 60% real coffee beans and 40% dark roasted soy beans.
It looks better when it’s arranged into powder!
Shush—don’t tell anyone. You’ll extend the vegans’ lifespans if you’re not careful!
This will damage Subway.
It may also damage other fast food outlets that sell 95%+/- chicken.
I know, now that I know, I will not buy it.
goldfish??!! yikes!!!
I’ve been eating their egg whites in sandwiches. I’m assuming that’s chicken dna until I hear otherwise.
I’m on an extreme natural diet for my arthritis, and it’s quite expensive and very time consuming. It’s darn near impossible for me to eat at any restaurant—fast food or sit down. Heck, even most “health” and organic foods are full of additives. It’s crazy what’s in food these days!
I recommend the Spicy Italian with olives and pepperonccini.
Vinegar and oil.
Hey, it's not that bad. Some of it is actually natural and not from the chemical factory..:^)
Enriched Bleached Wheat Flour [Flour, Reduced Iron, B Vitamins (Niacin, Thiamine Mononitrate (B1), Riboflavin (B2), Folic Acid)], Corn Syrup, Sugar, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Water, Partially Hydrogenated Vegetable and/or Animal Shortening (Soybean, Cottonseed and/or Canola Oil, Beef Fat), Whole Eggs, Dextrose. Contains 2% or Less of: Modified Corn Starch, Glucose, Leavenings (Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate, Baking Soda, Monocalcium Phosphate), Sweet Dairy Whey, Soy Protein Isolate, Calcium and Sodium Caseinate, Salt, Mono and Diglycerides, Polysorbate 60, Soy Lecithin, Soy Flour, Cornstarch, Cellulose Gum, Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate, Natural and Artificial Flavors, Sorbic Acid (to Retain Freshness), Yellow 5, Red 40.
The teriyaki chicken is (apparently fake) grilled boneless chicken breast cut into thick chunks. The oven roasted chicken is cold-cut style, so the chicken is actually prepared differently.
Hope you get better!
I figure all the chemicals will either kill me or pickle me like Keith Richards.
So far it’s pickle.
Looks like we could dispense with the farms and make all of it in a big chemical plant.
All that natural gas from fracking y’know.
