The Media’s War against Michael Flynn
The National Interest ^ | 11 Feb, 2016 | Aram Bakshian Jr.

The Logan Act of 1799, which most Americans have never heard about and which has never been enforced, has suddenly become a big topic in Washington. It would be funny if it weren’t serious.

The target is national security adviser Michael Flynn. There are plenty of reasons to wonder about Flynn’s policies, most notably on Iran. But in Washington, political differences have become war by other means. What Flynn’s views are isn’t even the main issue. Instead, it’s what can be used to take him down only a few weeks into his new post..........

If Flynn did, indeed, suggest that Russia exercise “restraint” last December, he broke no law and did no damage. He was guilty of nothing but urging calmness and common sense at a time when many partisan politicians on the Left were trying to delegitimize the legal election results and destabilize an orderly transfer of power, sometimes with street violence—an approach that they are continuing to cultivate, as far as possible.

Let’s see: Ted Kennedy went to Russia to negotiate against Reagan. The speaker of the house sent a Dear Commadante letter to Nicagragua. Guess those were not as serious as this, eh?

none of this matters. it isn’t about the Logan Act or any thing Flynn did or didn’t did.

It’s about fighting Pres. Trump every second of every minute every day...truth be damned.

I’ not so sure about Kerry having Ben a private citizen back then. I haven’t reviewed the time line since ‘04, but IIRC his treason started before he mustered out officially. In any case he still deserves to share hemp with Hanoi Jane!

More troubling in all this is why was the federal government spying on a private citizen and listening in on his telephone conversations? I thought NSA had stopped doing that?

I wasn’t sure if he was still in the Army, though IIRC, he was wearing his uniform in the pictures from the talks. Wasn’t his ‘Jenjis(sic)Khan’ reference from then, or was that from testimony in front of the US Congress a little later?

I’m not sure and don’t presently have time to verify, but IIRC ‘Jengis Khan’ is from from the traitor’s Congressional testimony. IIRC one of the (many) questions about his record was that some of the ‘official’ entries to his military record were dated a few years after he ‘officially’ left the service. Suggesting there had been earlier, less salutary, entries which were being covered up. Kerry always has ignored requests for permission to view his FULL military records and no one with the right to violate his privacy block, at least no one not firmly in the Kerry camp, has done so absent his permission. Back when he was running on his allegedly great military record permission to view the full record was one of the major requests of the “Swifts.” There’s no statue of limitation on treason so pleas for bringing Kerry to justice remain in order.

Fauxahontis is a lousy Senator, but at least she’s a legally eligible one. For years MA had none such. Traitor Kerry was never eligible and Kennedy wasn’t once he took Mary Jo for a swim while allegedly driving on an expired license (a fact revealed long later which should have upgraded his misdemeanor conviction to felony manslaughter.)

Kelly is on the record for opposing islamic doctrine. Under Obama, CIA head Brennan was widely rumored as being muslim. There are doubtless carryover muslim sympathizers at CIA Pompeo needs to root out. I’d hope Pompeo understands and focuses on rooting them out rather than blocking Kelly.

The media is only the tool which the mandarins of the intelligence community are using against Trump, using Flynn as a target among many.

Where do you think reporters got a transcript of the conversations between Flynn and the Russian if not from one of the intel officials who wanted to leak the information so it would become public?

They get two birds with one leak if they can damage Flynn to the point where the Dems and their media lap dogs can brew up the story to where his continuation as National Security Advisor becomes untenable.
And any flaw in the administration that can be exploited is also a victory against the President.
