Beach vacations for the poor? California is going off the deep end

This week, California lawmakers introduced a new bill that will use taxpayer dollars to help low-income residents go on beach vacations. This is not simply an abuse of tax money — it is a perfect representation of how far California has drifted away politically from the rest of America.

The legislation, introduced by Democrat Lorena Gonzalez-Fletcher, would direct state agencies to develop new, low-cost beach rentals and to improve existing ones at taxpayer expense.

While so many across America voted for lower taxes and less regulation, Californians chose a different path of higher taxes and more regulation. The politicians they elected have continued to fight for this agenda, which is part of legislative Democrats’ demands of radical solutions for societal ills.

After over two decades of Democratic control, California now faces an unfunded pension liability of no less than several hundred billion dollars, largely in part to the embrace of public sector unions and high minimum wage laws by the California Democratic Party.

This is what happens when liberals are in charge. They are always looking for something new to waste your tax dollars on. This is pitiful...

Same idea.

A government big enough to give you everything you want is big enough to take everything you have.

One-party ideology combined with massive amounts of printed, unbacked dollars and massive government debt with manipulated interest rates.

Unfortunately, this country NEEDS a major debt default and huge economic crisis to cure this irresponsible, crazed leftism.

You notice more and more things are becoming "necessities"?

If nutty Leftists can claim the Internet is a human right for the poor with a straight face, then I guess they can anything else. Cars, vacations, houses, etc. I mean, got to drive to have a chance at a job and life, right?

We have crystal clear water with a blue look to it. Our sands are sugar-white...by comparison, California loses.

People have a right to live wherever they want to live. I saw that on a gubmint poster. Why should vacations be any different. Where is my new car? I have a right to a new car because I live in California. /s

I believe France has been doing that for a long time. Fortunately California is not the whole country. California is just California.

Ocean in SoCal is filthy with Mexican sewage from Tijuana and the NorCal beaches are, if not dangerous, are freezing cold.

Fifty separate laboratories. That is what the several States should be. Every State should be able to pursue happiness in its own way, with its own resources.
If the People’s Democratic Republic of California wants pay for its low income residents to have beach vacations, I am fine with that - so long as money is not being coerced from other states to pay for this.
Gotta wonder where the money is coming from, though; it isn’t like the PDRCA is running a budget surplus.

PC Beach, unfortunately is difficult to see anymore without renting a condo. Driving down Front Beach Road is like driving in the bottom of a canyon.

It’s coming, I’m sure, unless California runs out of lenders first.

An unintended (maybe) consequence of this stupidity will be that welcoming the Ghetto ‘Rats will certainly cause an immediate drop in local home values.

Tax-paying home owners with prime Ocean-Front Property should revolt! Would YOU purchase a home that was in a welfare community?

Do you think they will put these facilities in locations where the movie stars and rich people beach houses are?
