President-elect Donald Trump says his administration is working on a plan that will make illegal immigrant children 'very happy,' and it will done in the next couple months
The president-elect said in the course of his campaign for the White House that illegal immigrants of all ages would be sent out of the country. Only the 'good' ones would be allowed to return, Trump stated.
He vowed to overturn President Obama's executive orders directing immigration officials to focus their efforts on deporting criminals, shielding children through his Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
After some pleading from exiting President Barack Obama and immigration reform advocates, including some Republicans in Congress, Trump seemed to soften his stance.
He told Time Magazine in early December that he wanted to 'work something out' for illegal immigrant children, known as DREAMers.
'I want Dreamers for our children also. We’re going to work something out. On a humanitarian basis it’s a very tough situation,' he said. 'We’re going to work something out that’s going to make people happy and proud. But that’s a very tough situation.'

All welfare, medical aid, food stamps, housing, and education should stop immediately.
To me it depends on what your definition of “dreamers” is.
Someone who was brought here as a baby in arms, grew up American and has no idea of life in another country?
Or some 19-year old gang member who got word on the cactus telegraph that Obama had left the back door open?
I hope President Trump will make them happy. I cannot imagine any better way to make them happy than by making them legal. Send them to their own countries, where they are legal!
If there’s a wall, real border security, true deportation, crackdown on sanctuary cities, some form of e verify, a fix to the old immigration model and plan to help manage immigrants here ina legal manner, I am fine compromising on some people who came here as kids. I would hope they still have to jump through some hoops and pass a process to earn it and be a productive citizen, but stopping the flow and fixing the system is worth it to give the bleeding hearts a carrot.

The ‘children’ are here at the expense of our grandshildren and their children. They’re not OUR children.
Sorry, they can keep their families intact and go back to the home country.

Guest status only, must pay taxes, AND NO CITIZENSHIP EVER unless they go to Mexico and apply from there.
AND IF THEY EVER VOTE ILLEGALLY THEY IMMEDIATELY GET DEPORTED.

Maybe the misinterpretation of the 14th Amendment that has been used to justify these policies can finally be considered by a sane, constitutionally oriented Supreme Court.

Obama deferred deportation action for these illegal aliens by opting not to enforce existing law. Under Trump, I believe the rule of law will be reestablished. Thank God.
Make Americans happy by deporting these illegal aliens. Maybe give them $5K each for relocation expenses. A win-win.

Agreed. I think the U.S. Supreme Court ruled, however, that illegals have the right to a U.S. taxpayer paid education, Trump needs to appoint justices who pledge to overrule that decision.

No special consideration should be afforded regardless of how long someone has been breaking our laws.
In order to BE an illegal alien they MUST break MANY laws.

Once the wall is built and the flood is STOPPED I am willing to listen to a plan about so called dreamers. I wonder if there are as many as people think. I know one example where a ‘dreamers’ parents made all the money they needed, sent it home to grandma across the border. Grandma had them a nice house built and started a business. After the ‘dreamers’ that are still here gaming the system have enough American money they will head back too. Never was any intention to be an American citizen.
