I'm curious how many of you will be celebrating President Trump's inauguration on Friday.
I made a vow to celebrate at Wing's Plus in Coral Springs where Brian Craig, co-host of the Steve Kane radio show (the FIRST on radio to endorse Trump), will have a Trump Inauguration party. I made a vow during the campaign (and especially during a Trump rally I attended down here on Aug. 10) that I would definitely attend.
I remember many nervous times during the campaign and now it will be SWEET to celebrate victory. I know my mind at the party will wander back over many events during the campaign starting with Donald Trump's announcement in June 2015 followed by immediate assertions by the MSM that Trump had NO chance of being nominated and probably wouldn't even last by the first debate.
Over and over and over again, the MSM declared the Trump candidacy dead and EVERY time he prevailed. EVERY TIME! In August 2016, Chuck Todd even kept declaring that Trump would have to drop out of the campaign because it was OVER for him. Yes, they all mocked the very idea that Trump could win...and then he WON. The most INCREDIBLE political campaign in American history.
So it will be great to celebrate. Oh, and while I am at the party, I made sure to record a full 5 hours of the inauguration on TV to savor later.
My wife is Serbian, and her family is celebrating their saint’s day (slava), St. John the Baptist, on Friday. There will be a lot of people and lot of food and I will be toasting President Trump and Vice President Pence numerous times.
I took the day off!
Fly the American Flag and the Rattlesnake Flag of the Teaparty. Eat Fried Chicken for dinner with corn on the cobb. Watch Fox News all day! Pie Apple Mode for dessert.
I work from home just about every day, so I’ll have Fox News on the TV as I work and FR on the extra laptop. And Facebook and Phillynews.com so I can enjoy the lamentations of the liberals. I expect at least an 8.7 on the Richter Butthurt scale.
I will say a prayer of thanks.
I am an old man who spent the last few days prior to Nov. 8, trying to cope with the idea that my last years may be spent watching the final destruction of the country I love and have served.
Don’t have full details yet, but a rye Manhattan (in honor of Trump being from NY) or two might be in the offing.
I can say without hesitation that upon Trump’s swearing in, I will fall to my knees and give thanks for surviving the Obama disaster.
I’ll have the popcorn ready and enjoy the whole day and night.......;)
I will be listening to liberals keening and wailing while they gnash their teeth. I will be enjoying every minute of it.
We’ll be having hot wing pizza and lots of pick up foods. And a few adult beverages. MAGA!
I’m going to be there in the stands at the swearing in and the parade, and also at the pre-Inaugural concert Thursday, and the official ball Friday night at the Convention Center. Can hardly believe such good fortune and that my long-time connections came through with the invites. I’m floating on air.
Who else is going? Let’s look for each other.
I am off work in the afternoon, so will watch some of the inauguration stuff on TV (and hopefully have a nap with the cat). Then my husband and I are going out to dinner at an “old-school” steakhouse, for which I received a gift card at Christmas. We will spend the whole $100 for just the two of us. I might have to have a couple margaritas...
Mine too! Happy birthday! :)
Pizza delivery, and reading FReeper posts.
Unfortunately I iwll be shoveling snow and mud. Live in the central mountains of New Mexico and we are getting blasted almost every week end since Christmas. Right now the mud on our one mile drive is a swamp. Snow expected tomorrow night and all day Friday so out with the tractor and shovel. However after I give out energy wise I can sit with rum and Coke and enjoy the reruns very much.
Not going, but I’m excited for you ..... hope you have a wonderful day!
If I was in Washington, I’d go to the deplorable ball. I wonder what C Span will cover?
You and me both but God answered a lot of prayers and we’ll be able to live out our lives with a new-found sense of hope that America will be OK.........;)
