And pet dogs.
And little children.
And older people who look like they may be easily culled from the herd.
And men who missed a spot while shaving.
And...
They would be better off worrying about Mooselimbs.

French people have been told not to fear wolves roaming Paris streets - as "they only eat four-legged animals".What ever "authorities" said that haven't read The Book of Deadly Animals by Gordon Grice. Lots of info on wolves killing people in France in the 18th Century.

Dont know how big the european wolves are but a timber wolf gets over 100 pounds.
Now they can tell me what the hell they want, but I know of TWO foresters who have been attacked by packs in N Michigan. They both climbed trees to get clear and one had to stay up there for a long time since he was out of phone range.
I personally have been stalked by a pack in the 1990s.

Well, they are, after all, “French” wolves—so perhaps they are timid and don’t go after humans ;)

Wolves, coyotes and hybrids can live & flourish even in urban areas. If one was living close by, you probably would never see it. I've seen video of them walking within 10 feet of a person who never knew it was there.
Most wolves try to avoid people. I wouldn't want to come across one, but they don't usually set out to hunt people. I don't understand the paranoia about wolves here on FR. Deer are responsible for hundreds of deaths every year through car accidents while wolves have only two documented cases of killing people since 1900.
You are more endangered by the rats and vermin that wolves like to eat than the wolves.
