Bashar al-Assad: If You Want the Truth, Look to the Alternative Media
The following interview with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was conducted by a group of French reporters. Mr. Assad was asked questions in English, and answered in English. However, the French channel that released the interview included only an on-screen French translation of the questions. In this video, the questions have been translated back into English and superimposed over the French versions.
Regardless of ones opinion of the Assad regime, Mr. Assads answers are lucid, clear, intelligent, and informative. Instead of reading what the mainstream media have to say about Bashar al-Assad, listen to what he has to say for himself.
And theres at least one place I absolutely agree with him: French politics harmed the French interests.
NOTE: One of the eleven questions asked of Mr. Assad was accidentally repeated in the English titles. Look at #9 in the transcript of the questions to read the text of the correct question (which should have been at about 8:45 in the video).
Many thanks to Ava Lon for translating the questions:
Transcript of the questions:
1. 00:01 You have just met the French delegation. Do you think that this can influence French policy?
2. 01:20 You say that the recovery of Aleppo is a major victory for Syria. How do you feel about the thousands of victims and the massive destruction in the city?
3. 02:52 But was the bombing of the neighborhoods of Aleppo the only way to get the town back?
4. 03:03 A ceasefire has been agreed upon. Why does the Syrian army continue to strike in the Damascus-area village of Wadi Barada?
5. 05:04 The talks will take place at the end of the month in Astana. What concessions are you prepared to negotiate with the opposition in order for peace to return to Syria?
6. 06:00 Are you ready to discuss even your office as president?
7. 06:48 What will be the fate of the rebels?
8. 07:20 The French presidential elections will take place in a few months. Do you have a preference for one of the candidates?
9. 08:41 The candidate François Fillon would re-establish the dialogue with Syria. Could his election could change the situation?
10. 09:13 Is there a message you would like to address to France?
11. 10:32 Donald Trump was elected president of the United States and wishes to talk with Russia, which is one of your major allies. Do you think this could change the US position on Syria?
I’ve listened to other interviews with Assad, and lucid is a good word. Put him up against Obama, Kerry, Clinton, realize that to take him out we’ve allied ourselves with Al Qaeda and ISIS, and you have to wonder what we’re doing there.
Question: What are we doing there?
Answer: The US has been up to no good.
And for the mainstream media to ignore this, makes them duly complicit.
Ding Ding Ding...we have a winner!
Exactly right. Barack Hussein wants all Muslim dictators out, such as guys like Mubarak in Egypt, Gaddafi in Libya, & those in Libya, Yemen, etc so that radical Muslims can take over. GWBush just was too dumb to foresee the aftermath of removing Saddam from power. And he was obsessed with revenge mentality because Saddam had threatened his father, Bush-41.
Those dictators were the only thing keeping the radical Muslims in check. ISIS was impossible if Saddam was still in power. Why are our elected presidents so dumb? Trump seems to understand middle-east better than his predecessors.
US presidents (includes Obama) suffer from delusions of grandeur. They have no clue that no one can pretend to be world policeman with $20,000,000,000,000 in debt and rising. Trump is a refreshing change who recognizes reality.
He understands because he has done business with the Islamic mind while building his properties in the region. I am sure that he would not have been so successful in that part of the world if he had not understood how the Islamic system works.
Agree with your observations of ME.
But Obama is not ignorant or stupid, he is a traitor within our walls. He has engineered this from the beginning using Alynsky tactics to bring chaos. He is one evil bastard that must be exposed.
Assad is correct, if you want the truth, it is not in the MSM but is sought by the Alternative Media. Public must understand this problem.
Yes, actually doing business in th ereal world is a lot different than career politicians who just do speeches every day.
Yes, yes, yes!
To me, Obama's behavior has been like a puzzle that has pieces that can be put together different ways. A tangram, if you will. I've been puzzling over the best assembly for years.
My solution: He's a Muslim, and an anti-white racist, first and second. But, he's also schooled in leftist systemic disruption techniques (a/k/a "community organizing").
Ask yourself, if Obama could magically get everything he wanted, what would his utopia look like? It would have Muslim supremacy, with an extremely strong government. Apparatchiks would rule. If you were white... you'd be at the bottom of the pile, absent some theocratic/Party connections. There would be a white man chained to every gristmill, and a white woman chained to every back bedroom. (So to speak).
Astute, you are...... :)
If, as I suspect, FMD is in fact his father:
That makes him a genuine Lying Commie (Islamist) Bastard.
The guy was educated in London and is an eye doctor. He never planned to take the top job, much less have to lead a civil war.
It’s AMAZING what the left and the media has turned him into...which is why it’s difficult to believe a damn thing about other claims by the left, like Global Warming, and Russian hacking.
It’s very weird living in a country where the government/media takes the book 1984 as an instruction manual, rather than a warning.
I had inside access to federal hiring during the Obama Admin. I was privy to lots of info not seen by average Americans. I was and am convinced that Obama saw to it that USCIS was stocked with nothing but people originally from the third world and Muslim countries. I was curious when I would see new hire after new hire having been born in Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Indonesia, Haiti, Domincan Republic, et. al. The smaller percentage of U.S.-born new hires were of Central American-Hispanic background. In non-STEM federal hiring, whites need not apply. For STEM federal hiring, only whites with specific STEM expertise should bother applying.
I’d love to know more. If it’s too “hot” for public dissemination, send me an email.
One of my boys had, from a very low-level grad STEM viewpoints, similar things to say about impediments to hiring where grant money was concerned. He also had some juicy things to say about H1-B abuse, which I didn’t expect. Happy to share on my end.
Thank you for posting this. Very helpful.
I have no knowledge regarding the veracity of this assertion, but I remember seeing comments here on FR that stated that Assad was standing in the way of pipelines that could make lots of money for quite a few elites, especially the Clintons.
Assad is an obstacle to the globalists
Syria is not about religion or about a pipeline, it’s about hegemony and geography and artificial lines on maps that are used to justify war
Question: What are we doing there?
—
There was absolutely no justification for our attempts to overthrow the government of Syria. Same could be said for Libya.
The obama regime supported the terrorists. Was it on behalf of the Muslim Brotherhood? A pipeline? The world bank? I cannot answer that but we had no justification for supporting terrorists.
White males with STEM backgrounds (especially engineering and IT) are contractors. They work 60-70 per week and make decent money. But there is the lack any job security and there is constant turnover and jumping to another contractor when a contract is taken over by another company, contract lost, etc. And more and more the STEM fed contracting involves H1B workers (usually East Indian) who are happy to do the job at almost unlivable pay (for D.C./NoVa/MD area) and put in 80 hours per week. I could be wrong, but I think we will see peak STEM employment pretty soon if not already. While STEM is touted and glorified as sophiscated and cutting edge, for 98% of STEM workers it is life as a worker bee.
