Sounds like a nasty day at work for the LEO.
Well finally we have a “feel good” story in the news.

Gunmen?
I only count one in this story.
Not quite the version of Luke 10:25 I remember, but I'll take it.

Welcome to FR, nod.

“The man was on top of the officer and “getting the better of him,” slamming the trooper’s head against the pavement, Milstead said. That’s when the passing driver showed up and asked if the trooper needed help.
“He said yes, and the passer-by went back to his vehicle, got his gun and told the suspect to stop the attack, Milstead said. When he didn’t, the driver shot him.
The civilian sounds a lot more calm and deliberate than many police officers would be in that situation. I’m surprised he didn’t ask the trooper if it was OK to shoot the guy who was beating the crap out of him.
I wonder when we can return to limiting reporters to English as a first language.
Good grief!
"Ambushed by a gunmen?"

There is something disturbingly wrong with this story...
In NY the good Samaritan would have been arrested and charged with numerous gun violation and with murder.
ambushed by a gunmen?...................were there more than 1?..............
BUMP. “Willingness to Act” is the new watchword. In all agencies, at all levels, and with all sorts of well-meaning Americans the “wait for authorities” motto has been replaced with “do what you can, now.” This is one of the effects of 9-11.
1. It is not a good blog.
2. this story has already been posted from ABC News local.
3. slapping a sentence or two before original content is not original.
4. This was an excerpt of the complete post at his website.
5. The entirety of the story, on his website, is from that local ABC News site.
6. It is a click bait site.
7. The reason he excerpted without notice, was to get you click to his website, in the hopes you find some ad for “Natural Viagra” and click on it, giving a revenue source.
8. FR is not part of anyone’s business plan for vacuous thoughts. It is community supported. The community and JR have made clear their views on blog whores.
9. He has not once replied or engaged in any discource of his posts.
10. Matt Drudge sourced his own newsletter and didn’t leverage someone elses private enterprise to build his business..
Further, Matt would release information ahead of other outlets through his own newsletter and eventually his website.
So, right now we have nodwam, rhett october and others who will eventually overload FR with crap that has already been sources by other posters, in an effort to get clicks to their unoriginal blogs.
Which, brings up another point. Many times, Humblegunner and I have dug deeper into the interwebs and found these guys actually plagiarize other websites.
I haven’t bothered to look up this flake and compare it across other content but, if he is provided safe haven at FR, eventually I will and we’ll see what the result is.
You and I pay for this website. He doesn’t have the right to trespass and throw up a shingle for his business just because you wanna be nice or fair. No blandishment applies to you in my remarks.
Here is where it first appeared on FR, well before nodwam gave his dos centavos....

In fact, he has linked his posts here at FR to “Telzilla”

I wish I could say this story had a happy ending, with the piece of trash perp being dead is about as close as we can get. My heart and prayers go out for the officer’s family.
