Interesting. It's not "live" footage of the battles it seems but rather the aftermath. The guys jumping off the boats, for example, do so in a rather more leisurely way than one would expect if they were under fire.
One odd thing I noted was that when they shows some of the fallen germans, about 20 minutes in. They all have no boots. Who took them?
To: Robert DeLong
I’ll have to watch this later.
Thanks!

Star Wars Empire Strikes Back reference.
Otherwise, a bit of non sequitur photography.

(Had FDR been GOP, there would have been no World Wars, just "The Great War" and "Roosevelt's Wars".)

It’s kind of a running internet joke...a brief, unsuccessful alliance between the Empire and the Reich. There’s also a pic of AT-ATs accompanying an armored column in Russia.

Thank you very much, I have never seen much of this footage.

Actually Ex Texas Redhead, a fellow lady freeper turned me onto it, and I thought I would share. She’s a great lady. I had never seen it either. So kudos rightly go to her.

The fields of landed gliders is impressive. I’ve never seen any photos like it.

They started the landings before the Germans got out of bed. Inland, the allies dropped at night, so they were in bed.

Oh, a running internet joke. Sorry, I don’t get a lot of yuks about D-Day. Don’t pay any attention to me, I’m just a miserable old Bastage.
