A Marxist collectivist worker-run restaurant in Grand Rapids, Michigan, closed its doors this week after customers complained that they could no longer tolerate the bizarre hours, high prices and long lines.

There were some successful ‘communist’ communities in America but they all worked hard and they didn’t eat vegan.
The Ammish also.
LOL, it is funny, but remember...it is only the useful idiots who believe it and try it repeatedly.
The people who wield the most power understand completely that it won’t work. They are there for the power they can wield, and the wealth they can loot from someone else.
I laugh at these lunatic lefties. What absolute human messes.
Leftists are always about the outer appearance and not about what's on the inside on just about everything. When it comes to food it's the same thing. They decorate the plate like a fashion designer but the food almost always tastes like crap and is ALWAYS overpriced. So I never eat at the leftist "designer" restaurants, save a lot of money, and get to eat food that tastes a lot better to my palette
The customers should also expect strangers at the next table to pick up their tab.
I'm reminded of the Seinfeld episode where Kramer just starts showing up at business meetings and getting assigned reports to write.
After awhile the Boss calls him in and tells Kramer he's being fired for poor quality.
Kramer: I can work harder.
Boss: No, it's not that. These reports ... it's like you have no business training at all!
Kramer: I don't even work here.
Boss: I know, that's what make this awkward.
When I lived in the Bay Area, I ate at a place named Hobee’s, which appeared to cater to at least Liberals. But one thing I did notice was the lack of blatant political symbols, mostly because, well, the owners didn’t want to unintentionally turn off potential customers regardless of political persuasion.
No lentils for you!
Love that guy
I only eat at restaurants where the “vegan option” is to go hungry.
Hobee’s (or Hobos as my wife and I call it) is closing up everywhere. Decent place for breakfast - the coffee cake is good - but the dinners are waaaaaaaaaay too hippie dippie for our liking.
A vegan restaurant?
Why limit your customer base to maybe 10 % of the population...
Sadly, they believed in their own propaganda...
Interesting that this place existed in the seat of the GOP in Mi.
“did not allow the restaurant to make enough profit to stay in business.”
Profit? What is a Marxist restaurant doing making a profit?
It only failed because the corporate banded together to charge fees on credit card transactions and raise food prices. Someone mentioned that if they went for cooking their own food, they could save money, who was quickly voted out for choosing personal skills over collective achievement...
Would it be awful to make a $30k offer for the restaurant and turn it into a desert eatery called ‘Millennial Tears, as nothing is as sweet’?
There are still six Hobee’s still active according to their web site, Google Maps and Yelp. I do think Hobee’s needs to move one of their restaurants to near the new Apple Campus 2 that is opening in about half a year.
Savage brought him up earlier this week. Though he got the first name wrong a few times.
Long lines, endless waiting in a communist enterprise. Who would have thought it? The only surprise is that there was apparently some choice in the contents of the sandwiches.
You’re right, by “everywhere” I meant the two locations that closed down near me here in the South Bay. :)
