Sadly, Ron Reagan Jr’s only serious attempts at a career were jobs created by his name (media, etc). Even with his name, he couldn’t make a go of it.
Kind of like his sister’s movie and TV career.
I don’t want to throw stones, but for whatever reason the last 2 Regaan kids didn’t get the work ethic of their parents, unlike Maureen and Mike.
I don’t place the full blame on the parents being super busy (which they were, BTW).
I believe that Ron Jr and Patty were a part of the “lost generation” that was seduced by leftist Marxist CRAP emanating from popular culture starting in the 1960s. Some got past that, some didn’t.
Truth is that neither of them was as blessed with ability as their parents had been, and without the old protestant work ethic to guide them (as it did earlier generations through schools, culture, etc) its no wonder that they underachieved in life....
Ron Reagan and Patti Davis turn up every time there is a GOP administration. They didn’t like their father’s either. And what they say certainly isn’t news.

All I can figure is that they must have taken after their mother. I loved Ronald Reagan. He was my ideal as a president, but for all his wisdom, I think on the home front, he let”mommy” call the shots. His two children from his first marriage were despised by Nancy, and he allowed her to influence him in not treating them as well as his two younger children. According to Michael Reagan, Maureen was a fighter, and stood up to Nancy, and when she (Maureen), died, Michael lost his most powerful advocate. I’ll NEVER forget how Nancy Reagan snubbed Michael at his dad’s funeral; he had to sit in the back, and was not allowed to be a part of the family funeral functions. I know President Reagan was absolutely crazy about Nancy, but in my opinion, she was an evil person.
There’s no guarantee for ANY parents that their children
will turn out terrific. Everybody’s a work in progress.
Ron, Jr. isn’t exactly “gay”; but needs to shut his
piehole and realize that WE LOVED HIS PARENTS AND THEY
DESERVED TO BE LOVED! Maureen & Michael turned out OK.

See the post above yours. I revered Ronald Reagan, but don’t believe Nancy Reagan was a good person. Yes, she was devoted to “Ronnieâ€, but here’s a puzzling contradiction: she knew how pro-life Ronald was, yet she came out strongly for stem-cell research...because it would have advanced Alzheimer’s research, because Ronald had Alzheimers — but Ronald would NOT have wanted to benefit from stem cell research! She should have been true to his values if she wanted to be true to him. Nancy was not good to Maureen or Michael Reagan, and she failed with her own two kids, who, let’s face it, turned out to be two big LOSERS. Sorry, I’m not impressed by Nancy Reagan. Yes, she loved her husband, but I know many women who love their husbands, but are also true to their husbands values and also are good mothers.
