1. Chili peppers help you burn more calories by raising the bodys core temperature during digestion. Whats more, they trigger a reaction in your gut that tells your nervous system to produce more brown fat, a healthy fat that expends calories.
2. They also reduce appetite by forcing you to drink more water to cool off, and by distracting your mind, making you forget that youre hungry.
3. Chili peppers release feel-good endorphins and dopamine, because your brain interprets the burn from hot peppers as pain, which can ultimately result in a sense of euphoria similar to a runners high.
4. Chili peppers alleviate sore muscles and tame arthritis thanks to those aforementioned endorphins, and also by inhibiting substance P, a neuropeptide that causes inflammation.

Alcohol will alleviate the burn. Rubbing alcohol to get capsaicin off the skin and a shot of booze swished around in the mouth will sooth the burn.

Ha ha. Fresh Habaneros are less hot if you clean them and remove the seeds and ‘membranes’ then cook them in some oil. Now I’m hungry for a burger... Thanks!

These guys?
I learned to eat tacos while still in the high chair. My mom said I started asking for the hot sauce after seeing my dad putting it on his tacos. My eyes would tear up but my mom said I always asked for more. Been eating that way ever since.
If your nose is not running after eating, it wasn't hot enough. :-)
I grew those a couple of years. Great conversation starter in the garden. LOL
A little cayenne in your chocolate candy is excellent.
I am covered! I am always adding Tabasco and Cayenne pepper to foods. Lve raw peppers as well. When I am sick but can eat, I will have a bowl of chili beans, butbestbit with raw yellow chili peppers. I can eat up to a half a jar of these raw peppers with a single bowl of chili. Surprisingly, they dont seem nearly as hot when I am sick as when I am healthy.
I dont know why this home remedy works for me and seems to speed up my recovery. It does leave me sweating profusely after eatingbthem, butbthat is a small price to pay when I am sick.
I didnt notice the article mention that chili peppers arevloaded with Vitamin C. Maybe I read too fast.
Peppers are my friend. I love them, put them on all kinds of foods to spice them up. Yummy.
If you make fruit preserves, grind up 2 or 3 of those habeneros in your preserves while cooking and they are super good on cold mornings :)
'In with the good; out with the bad'.
Yeah it can suck. Dry foods also work to cleanse the heat. Like not dipping a couple of tortilla chips in that salsa and just eating them plain. Really the big thing is you want to neutralize the acids and remove the stuff from your pores.
Awesome! I never knew Tabasco comes in gallons. Man, where can I buy gallons of Tabasco? Biggest I can find is the 12 oz. bottles.
Note: To be GREAT Hot Peppers, When consumed the must melt your fillings, burn the lint from your navel and require you to use ice cubes for toilet paper! ;^}
A pepper plant under stress will produce even hotter fruit.
I’ve grown jalapenos during dry/hot summers that were
too hot even without the seeds and ribs.
Too hot even after months of pickling.
Too many and you will be “highly running” painfully in the bathroom the next day!
Gets your attention without throwing you to the ground.
