Jill does not want a recount, she wants to nullify the votes. She can do this with a slow recount that goes beyond the certification date 12/13. If a state does not certify to Congress by that date the votes do not count and Hillary wins. She can slow the count by challenges which will get them beyond the certify date. Remember Michigan just reported their final vote a week ago, almost three weeks after the election.
You may be right. I wouldn’t put it past her. But there’s no way out except through, with constant vigilance.
I agree.....and I believe that’s what the USSC will find.
Hillary cannot win without 270 EC votes. If she slows the certification beyond the deadline, the EC is taken out of the decision and the House of Representatives get the vote.
Hillary would have to win the majority of the electors sitting, and Trump would still have a majority, since 270 would no longer be the winning number.
That might be the theory. But it won’t happen.

Nope. If she does not get 270 votes, then the House of Representatives decides the election - by law. However, i am surprised that a Trump Representative hasn’t had a Tarmac meeting with the Clinton’s to point out that Trump will have a huge microscope after January 20th, and that he will be able to give them a huge colonoscopy up their rears if they don’t stop it. No telling how many polyps are there.
So if the recount is not completed by 12/13 the voters in those states would be disenfranchised. All those votes would be nullified. They may as well have not bothered to vote in this election, nor in any other future election for that matter if this absurd recount is permitted.
This scheme effectively destroys our election process and democracy.

She doesn’t want to count the votes, you are correct. That’s way too dangerous for her and her party. More of their cheating might be exposed. She only wants to act like she wants a recount in order to instill in her followers a sense that maybe Trumps presidency is not legitimate. That’s all they’ve got.
No, if for some reason these electoral votes don’t count (highly unlikely), Hillary still does not get to 270. If neither has 270, it goes to House of Representatives and Trump wins.
If what you say is Jill Stein’s intent, then it would have been a regular ploy by the losing candidate(s) to do a recount in a state they lost.

How does Hillary win? By what law, rule or precedent?
Unless they changed the law, it would work like this:
If no Presidential candidate wins 270 or more electoral votes, a majority, the 12th Amendment to the Constitution provides for the House of Representatives to decide the Presidential election. If necessary the House would elect the President by majority vote, choosing from the three candidates who received the greatest number of electoral votes. The vote would be taken by state, with each state having one vote.

While I agree that she can’t steal the election and we don’t need the hand wringing, I do think understanding how this will play-out with a complicit media is worth discussion on a forum such as ours.
The whole purpose as I see it is to allow the Gore v. Bush mantra — illegitimate will be the cry from the press. Trump didn’t REALLY win blah, blah blah — in an attempt to weaken his administration in the minds of the low information participant.
Sure the battle shall be fought in state courts and in the House if need be but the real battle where we are outgunned is in the corrupt media and in the academic arena. That is where they want the fight.
But then, if the decision is forced into the House of Representatives, the Dems can claim that Trump “stole” the election. They will say he was not elected by the people but rather by representatives of his own party. This would enable them them to delegitimize Trump’s victory (at least for propaganda purposes).

Yes, certification is determined by individual states. If a recount is not done in time, either the original count is accepted or that state’s electors don’t get to vote.
Y’all are making me dizzy. Maybe one of the experts on msnbc, cnn, or fox can clear it up for me. (tongue firmly planted in cheek)
