The body of an Oregon man who slipped and fell into a scalding hot spring while he was trying to hot-spot at Yellowstone National Park earlier this year dissolved before rescue crews could finish their recovery, according to a recent report. Colin Nathaniel Scott, 23, was with his younger sister when he walked more than 200 yards away from the boardwalk on June 7 to a hot spring called Pork Chop Geyser.
Scott was planning to hot-spot, or soak in the water but slipped and fell in when he reached down to check the temperature, television station KULR reported Monday following a Freedom of Information Act request.
The incident was apparently recorded by Scotts sister, according to the television station, but park officials would not release or comment on the video.

We visited many years ago. It’s a bit disconcerting to pull over to an area covered in macadam so cars can park & discover a hot spot coming up under the macadam & melting through. It had little flags & tape around it. But that’s how dangerous Yellowstone is.
And yes, there are signs EVERYWHERE. Stay on the marked paths!
It’s Charles Addams. And the shadow looks more like a gigantic eagle.
If you drive through the ‘Glades at night, there are areas of mass frog congregations. Seems like every one of them is waiting to jump up at your headlights. Makes an horrendous sound as you drive through.
I can already tell you what gift from Hillary is under Anthony Weiner’s menorah this year: An all-expense paid trip to Yellowstone.
Last time I was in Yellowstone, I remember seeing a sign warning of thin crust and bunch of bison tracks in the mud right behind it. I didn’t test my theory but I’m guessing that the crust wasn’t that thin right there.
Speaking of IQ and especially the % who are below average, here’s an interesting read:

Food for thought whenever we must interact or venture out among them...
Nearly a Darwin group award.
Oh, thank you! (-:
We were just blessed moving from California and buying someone else’s fantasy house after it was foreclosed on. Ours was the only offer and we were blessed when it was accepted because there was no other way we’d have such a wonderful home!
Blessings on you and your house!

Most of them. IWarnings are just about everywhere for everything. Going to the Great national parks and observing the idiots is a kind of fun way to spend an afternoon.
Great deal; it was meant to be!
I just sold my little farm. I was so GLAD I held on to it all these years. Now it’s a young couples ‘starter dream farm’ which makes me very happy! :)
Thanks - that's the one. I guess it wasn't a pterodactyl, but it WAS a long time ago that I saw it. :-)
Yep. Faulty memory on both counts.
Does Bill Nye have an alibi?
His new nickname is stu.(sorry)
No worries Broth-ah, we all appreciate a good pun
Ever see ‘Charlie Frost’ characters lurking around the park?
;^)
Been along time, but boardwalk paths with signs warning people not to get off them from what I remember...
I was there many years ago. Yes there are warning signs. This was sheer stupidity. It is not the safest place in the world to visit, but deliberately deciding to take dip in one the hot bubbling areas is just crazy.
We see all sorts of characters lurking around here! Like for instance every day I see this one crazy lady lurking around on the other side of my mirror! She’s nuts!
:-P
