PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi on election: People are asking, 'Are we safe?'
Head of Pepsi Issues Unreal Trump Statement
Time to Boycott NOW
Dear XXXXX,
Thank you for writing.
One of the truths that emerged from this election is that the mainstream media often fails to present a straightforward account of current events. Unfortunately, the coverage of Ms. Nooyis recent comments reflects this. Some media outlets chose to present her remarks in a fashion that captured neither the spirit of her message nor the context in which they were given. For example, you would never know from the headlines that the very first thing she did when the topic of the election came up was to congratulate the President-elect Trump. She also highlighted three primary points of his agenda. The following are excerpts from the discussion that provide a more complete view of her statements.
"First of all, I want to congratulate President-elect Donald Trump."
We will all come together and unify the country."
"At some point, were going to have to pick up the big issues of technological unemployment, global trade, immigration all of which needs reform."
Separately, the morning after the election, Ms. Nooyi sent a letter to PepsiCo employees making the following points:
"Yesterday, across this country, Americans turned out in record numbers to make their voices heard. I want to congratulate President-elect Donald Trump on his victory, and I wish him all the best
as he begins the work of stewarding this country in the months and years ahead."
"I do hope that starting today, we can begin the process of healing, the process of overcoming the divisions that have been exposed during this campaign. I hope that starting today, we can refocus on the work of forging a partnership with one another to build our common future."
We are, first and foremost, Americans. We are, first and foremost, mothers and fathers, sons and daughters, who want a better life for ourselves and our families.
And the only way of ushering in that better life, the only way of moving forward as a country, is by walking together, hand-in-hand.
The coverage by mainstream media, while it may have made for clickable headlines, misrepresented Ms. Nooyis views.
Thanks again for writing. I hope this further information is helpful.
PepsiCo Consumer Relations
There’s nothing that this loser could possibly say that would make me change my mind on not buying ANY of Pepsico products for the rest of my life.
Where’s Joan Crawford when we need her?
It’s enjoyable to read all this backpedaling from Democrat/liberal losers.
Sounds like she didn’t make any of the disparaging comments they said she did. Have their been articles about her complaining about the misrepresentation?
I don’t drink soda of any kind anymore. I don’t miss it, either.
Too late big mouth- love that Diet Coke and various store brand alternatives.
I loved that scene in “Mommie Dearest” after her husband died and the Pepsi execs were trying to force her out and she exploded, “Don’t F*** with me, fellas !”
Neither do I so, I guess I can’t join the boycott.
Here too. I told my kids no more Pepsi, and now we have to find a substitute for Quaker Oats (since Pepsi owns that brand as well).
I only drink Coke!
Something not right with the taste!
As long as you stay under 32oz, there are no ill effects to your health & well being.
;-)
Dear PepsiCo Relations:
Nice try, a*******.
She is a liar like Illiarly and the rest of the rat elites.
Look up PEPSICO they go way beyond soda.Ya may have a product in your home.
Dear PepsiCo:
Coke is better.
Sincerely,
DJT
It’s not the winning I’m getting sick of; it’s the whining!
im thinking billions are at stake with relative to federal contracts.
She has to GO!!! PepsiCo shareholders will lose MILLIONS!! LOL!
I work for a fortune 200 company - none of our executives felt the need to say anything about the election.. We’ve got work to do and money to make.. sheesh..
