NEW YORKPresident-elect Donald Trump said that, after conferring with President Barack Obama, he would consider leaving in place certain parts of the Affordable Care Act, an indication of possible compromise after a campaign in which he pledged repeatedly to repeal the 2010 health law.
In his first interview since his election earlier this week, Mr. Trump said one priority was moving quickly on the presidents signature health initiative, which he argued has become so unworkable and expensive that you cant use it.
Yet, Mr. Trump also showed a willingness to preserve at least two provisions of the health law after the president asked him to reconsider repealing it during their meeting at the White House on Thursday
Mr. Trump said he favors keeping the prohibition against insurers denying coverage because of patients existing conditions, and a provision that allows parents to provide years of additional coverage for children on their insurance policies.

Not really.
It did limit exclusions in group plans but for individual plans it varied by state.
More to the point, even in states where the exclusions in individual plans were prohibited there was no limit on what the insurance company could charge for premiums, thus effectively gutting the limitation.
You know, Trump has said on the campaign trail that those are the only two parts of the law that he likes. Thousands pages of this law and Trump says he likes two small pieces of it and the libtard media is now saying Trump is going to keep Obamacare
What a bunch of BS!
Don’t fall for it
Only ten posts to read until the first hysteria. Congratulations.
If you were being sarcastic, then placing a /s at the end of the post can be helpful, but it is not required.
I have also made blatantly sarcastic posts that lacked a /s, and people took those posts literally, so it is a risk.
But if you were being sarcastic, that’s cool, I like sarcasm.
If I misinterpreted, I apologize.
Big Insurance runs the world. It is not going to be happy it has to cross state lines and compete. Expect some consolidation.
Here is a very good part of the ObamaCare law.
“In the case of any failure by a taxpayer to timely pay any penalty imposed by this section, such taxpayer shall not be subject to any criminal prosecution or penalty with respect to such failure.”

The extra cost of a pre existing condition can be neutralized by buying into a larger risk pool. We’ll have the freedom to do that once the free market opens everything up, especially if he can make the insurance available across state lines.
That part will be a real challenge.
“Mr. Trump said he favors keeping the prohibition against insurers denying coverage because of patients existing conditions, and a provision that allows parents to provide years of additional coverage for children on their insurance policies.”
Nothing particularly horrible about those things, particularly if the rest of it is repealed and replaced.
nope. just repeal it. period.
The simplest thing to do with this law is to sign an executive memo suspending the mandatory clause as an unreasonable burden on the American people.
The industry would then start competing again for all those who drop off the plan. Congress would be bypassed. The people who claim Obamacare is wonderful can stay on it and keep paying insane premiums and deductibles.
“You have got to be kidding He LIED!!!”
Uh, are you being sarcastic? If so, better to use the /sarc tag to be perfectly clear.
The thing is, repeal and replace doesn’t automatically mean that the replacement plan will include zero elements of obamacare.
If Liberty health share accepts you, you should do it. You can get $1 million coverage so there is no need to get any backup.
One point Trump stressed during the campaign is to NEVER telegraph to your opponents what you intend to do. Just do it. This is how I expect his presidency to be.
Also, young adults 18-26 don’t care much about medical care and so wouldn’t sign up. It is the parents who understand there is Still Danger and so they are more Motivated to pay. Let them.
This is annoying.
I hope he brings in John Goodman, he has some good ideas about how to structure healthcare
The reason for the back up is that Liberty is not insurance..and they don’t have to pay. If they get hit with a bunch of million dollar claims in the same year..someone may lose out.
I am paranoid. there have been several lawsuits with another healthshare that in turn changed its name . CEOs using the money for personal use etc.
We kept them on the plan and they divided and paid their portion, it was much less expensive and much better coverage
Yep. The liars, and Decievers continue on with their “Journalism”. Lol.
CNN has been so much fun this last 16 months! The little snowflakes aint seen nothin yet!
